1. In the account settings you can add an “ignored user”.

it gives you an option to ignore that user’s posts and any mentions from that user. It doesn’t completely erase all the BS but cleans up threads like this quite a bit.
Yea I'm sure. But they also usually have valid stuff to add. Just not when it gets to this point.

2. I feel like I'm back in high school. Can we just not do this shit here anymore. I mean you guys do you. But maybe elsewhere . Or maybe I'm the one with the issue and just need to take a hiatus again.

3. What is a typical broken chain per year for a frequent rider?

0. If you break a chain you are doing something off. Like poor maintenance. Bad shifting habits under load. Etc

I'm not saying it hasnt happen to me. Mostly my first few years learning the ropes I broke a few . But it is not typical and not expected for me.

4. It's your project man, and really appreciate the effort.
I just didn't see any issue with the previous line. It seemed to work with what's there. If maintaing speed off the drops is the goal for the lead in to the new monster drop, then so be it. IDK, but I will hold off judgment until it's all done.
Again, thanks for all the work you do.
That's part of it. But the bigger part of it was wanting to restore the feature back to what is was. It was only gonna get worse and further expose more and more underlying logs that are stacked under the dirt. Eventually it would be a nothing feature. Even the original dirt table we built was too short. And those who want to launch it would go to far alot of times and mis the transition. So a lot of speed would be needed to be scrubbed in order to not eat shit into the face of the wall ride after it. I didnt have the desire to move that much dirt to do it naturally just to have it erode again. The wood still needs to be modified. As it was built it works but doesn't flow the way I wanted exactly. But after your feed back I think I'll look into making an optional natural line to feel like what you and others might think was the original line.

5. Isn't the new table top "on top of" the original line?
Ah. Yes. But the original dirt line back when it was made was WAY bigger and more like a jump. Erosion took it down to it's form prior to wood table. The intent is to restore to original concept of a jump you can actually use but also still be able to roll. Explain what you loved about the feature prior to wood overlay and I'll see if there is a possible way to have that same feel off to the side.

6. I did the "shop" in paint cause I didn't take a picture when I was there. Sorry if its not represeintitive of you actual work. but the question still stands.
Ok I'm caught up. But confused on you saying original line went away. No original line has been messed with on any of the lines. There is the new wood table top that still needs modifications. It is slightly too long and weird shaped. But no original lines were wiped out. Can you clarify if this is your question . Ypu can always text me

7. Why do I get the feeling he is grabbing the baby and hauling ass over there with a crow bar and hammer ready to tear this up?

Oh. I'm close to it. Haha. It will get dealt with today. But I gotta get a sitter real fast

8. First Blood just those that work in healthcare
When this is all over I hope the detainment camp you put us soiled ones in will at least have enough land for a jump line.

9. HoneyBadger Were you out working on Peddler's yesterday?   I saw you while I was on the loop, but had a good time working.  I rode over about ten minutes after that but you/someone had already left.  I was going to try and help out a bit.    Thanks for all you do out there.  Peddler's Pass sure is fun to ride.
You wouldn't be allowed to help. No way to be socially distanced while trail building.@HoneyBadger [emoji848][emoji51]

10. Rode it/them yesterday. Told others how to find them. Then went and saw a "Closed" sign. Will be checking on why that sign was there. Will post if they are open or not.

This was the first time I rode them on a bike. Maybe I'm just getting old but I think everyone should do a sighting run before they send it. There are consequences for coming up short on some of the jumps.

Good news is there are B lines for anything considered big . It would be nice to have it announced if it is actually open now. Last I heard ARR wanted to wait to publicize it was open because the return route wasnt done. It could really use some riders and publicity if that's not the case.

11. Hadn't ridden 1/4 Notch in a good while since I've been riding mostly just Snail, Rim, and DD. Decided to ride 1/4 today though (W-E) and noticed a few trail mods, one where rocks were moved to make the obstacle easier and another where an alternate path had been worn in around an obstacle that isn't even difficult. Sheesh - shit like that really pisses me off. Snaggle Rock seemed to be modified as well, but frankly it seems to be a little bit different every time I come across it these days. Probably just a combination of people dumbing it down and then attempting to build it back up.
It's a never ending battle.

12. I dont know.. that tree looks like it will impale you

Ha. What tree are you guys talking about. Have you seen it today or yesterday? There is one large tree to right of landing. The branches USED to hang low. They currently do not. Also did you see where I said I already hit it. I dont believe I got impaled. I'll go recheck.

13. Because it was so high it looks like it will shoot you into the tops of trees!
Hahahah. Nah. If you can get up there I'll be impressed. It just needed a light trimming which it had yesterday anyways. It may need another trim once the new jump line into this line gets built and it becomes faster. But you currently wont carry as much speed as you might think into it. I already sent it today without ending up in tree . **Warning the landing is not the landing it will have and is currently really soft. Also the run step up and run out isnt built.

14. I've been watching some jump videos that tell you to compress into the face... But looking at these riders I'm not really seeing them do that — or at least it doesn't seem that they are. Particularly off the drops... They just seem to be riding off and maybe pulling up a bit when in the air. Am I missing something here?

The best way I can describe it is to think of a jump as a simple bunny hop. (Proper bunny hop technique needed not the clipped in pull feet up method). THINK OF THE LIP AS WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO BUNNY HOP OVER. Every jump will vary in when and how much to compress because not all jumps are the same height and distance.

With that said your speed and type of jump also effect what you do. There are jumps at bike parks where you dont need to do the exaggerated bunny hop...because of the speed you carry and the shape of the take off and transition you might be able to just compress into attack body postion (knees and elbows bent) and hold that through the lip.

The more you bunny hop the lip the more pop (height) you get.

15. Would have been better coming from the photographer showing pictures of some mountain biker photo bombing his shoot.

Well I think that's a given. Still better than nothing. Gives me hope.

16. Beautiful ride tonight. Saw 2 bikers all night and that was before the sun set. Amazing considering the masses wanderingly clueless lately.

Also a message to the chick who was in your bra and panties back off 1/4 getting your pictures taken. Number 1.. thanks! Number 2 dont ask so surprised to see a biker ride by you. What the hell did you expect?

Possibly the best trail report I've ever read.

17. Just a temporary one. I haven't hit that feature yet because I usually need to see someone else hit something before I try it. But I have done a few run ups and the run-in ramp isn't as bad as it looks.
For that one you need to get your speed up. Maybe a quick pedal stroke or two on wood. Without speed you kinda have a huck to flat feel

18. No man, this one is WAY bigger.  I do the drops on the right line all the time, but this one is significantly bigger.  I dropped down the wood structure yesterday pretty gracefully, but sending the full drop is sicko!
Video worked for me on my phone. Not on the computer.
I have not even tried this part of snail yet. I keep going to the right to the smaller drop. I would imagine that if I can do the smaller drop, this one wouldn't be any more difficult. I guess its just a mental thing.
I would say yes and no. For me.. I physically approach and attack this drop the same as the small ones. Same body posture, look fwd, try and land front wheel slightly before rear... etc. But the margin for error is smaller and consequence is larger . You blow it on smaller drops or brake jack last second and still roll put the small ones. There is no rolling put this one if you go too slow or freeze up
Also on smaller ones you can go almost as fast as you want with no change .. this bigger one if you go too fast the drop gets further and landing G forces get stronger which can bottom you out and then possible rebound buck you.
