2. Its called TESTING! Haha. For Realz. I hit it many different way and one of them was to ensure someone rolling like that would come out ok. You can also launch off the lip and barely tag the bottom. Or you can... forget it. Just go ride it people.

3. Almost found out the hard way that roll in is on the left and not the right! Not a bad roll in at all. Highly recommend.

Once the top is finished the roll in will be more visible from top. But its fun cause you can either brake check at top and release brakes and shoot down or float over top bits of it and tag the bottom part. It's tappered the way it is so people enter where they should at top but has a safery net on cliff side visually and in case you get a little off track at bottom. Initial plan was just an even planked roll in. But it was much more intimidating seeing a gap your tire could wedge into between the ramp and the cliff on the way down.

4.

The number of people riding Deception has increased over the years, but it's popularity has decreased.

It's not a bash on Deception, just simple math.

Whatever Strava NERD. I just wanna fight. I think you are just still mad that those honey bees attacked you in Deception. You haven't been back since. Also that picture means nothing . I could do 10 laps on PP and not be as tired as one lap on Deception. I imagine most people that inky ride PP do multiple laps. And now that the race is upcoming you have a disproportionate amount of people coming more often to practice. Duh

5. Based on Strava, Deception is now one of the lesser ridden trails since there are so many other options.

C'mon now. Strava nerd. You know the easy answer. It's less about popularity or more better options and more that PP (and SJ) and well within the capabilities or far more people. I would imagine D has increased in popularity if compared in a timeline of itself, but is not as widely used for the above reason along with ease of accessibility. Also i would bet money that most riders that are doing D in varying lengths use PP as a good leg warm up. Back a year ago when i had freetime to ride more that's my route. Either half of PP then parts or all of D. Or All of Sub Ninja to half of PP to parts of D. I dont imagine to many people drive or ride to PP and just do a lap of that and leave.

6. I've added a 250+ lb heavy weight open class. That is 250 lb rider weight (in race gear). start packing on those pounds!
If i put my son on my bike and a saddle bag with snacks maybe i can reach that. Or maybe you can make a category for new dads who used to ride good but now just want to ride period.

7. So yeah,, As I previously asked.. The old Barn trail that had to be closed at BC. Is that hikers that have been using it ?

I assume it is still closed to bikers right?

The barn trail was never really closed. Just the part that went under the barn and thebold trailhead. It mostly just stopped being used once the trailhead got moved and the concrete path was inder construction.

8. Ha. Nope. I reported it to Ronan when i daw it being dumped. There was a white truck with 2 guys looking at the beginning of the new sidewalk at the intersection of Parmer and Brushy Creek rd. So its for something way less cool. Just wish they weren't assholes about where they dumped it. Ronan suggested we rob as much dirt as possible since its on the trail.

9. So my trail report is as follows: if Gumdrop East is dry (including rock face at entry) then it’s probably all boobs except maybe peddlers’ dirty butt.

but it’s a perfect day for riding whatever is rideable. Encouraged thus far.

Man whomever tunneled through that to make trail must have been a pure beast !

10. I just removed the rope. Not wanting to be liable for some jackass getting hurt. How could I get this approved through the city/ trail gods?
You personally wouldn't be liable. Not like you wrote your name on it. I dont care if its there or not. I see both sides. If we cant catch this guy in the act he may not stop. He was told already by the person who intially reported it that its unsafe to have that there. He obviously doesnt care.

11. GreenMTBrider I would remove the rope. I think it gives the impression that it is ok to be climbing up this feature. It's really dangerous for hikers to be doing this, I know I wouldn't be able to stop in time if I came over the lip and found a hiker scrambling up the side.

Are you NOW saying your Saints wouldnt stop you in a moment notice like you previously touted. People climb that regardless. You arent gonna stop them with a sign that says not to do it. Leave the rope. It at least gets those hooligans out of the ditch or out of center line faster should someone be riding at same time. It is a manmade feature and will beed to be inspected. But ots not different than bridges we make. The liabilities are the same.

12. @Greenmtbrider

Thanks. Seems like his prime time is later in the evening perhaps. I wish i could go out tomorrow and sit there. Guaranteed he will show up to check on his fine work. Let me know how your plan goes ill be at work all day and check back on thurs. He really is making a mess of the beauty of that spot. Not to sure how to get that crap up.

13. I did him a favor. Those rocks pulled off with zero effort. His engineering fu is weak.
There is however leftover glue or whatever

Thanks! Glad it wasn't someone who knew how to anchor stuff. Based off that hack job im not too worried about him doing anything more extreme. But let's keep an eye out going down it for a bit.

14. It was reported to me last night in the Deception arr email that some asshat hiker took it upon himself to start glueing foot hold rocks up the limestine drop in Daves Ditch. The person that reported it actually encountered the hiker while doing it and questioned him. The hiker said he was making it easier to walk up that. He was informed that bikers come down that and it wasnt safe but i think he kept working. Im gonna trudge my butt out there soon with a rock bar and a baby if anyone is free and wants in come join. But also if you see dumb stuff like this just remove it if possible.
