I wonder if they'll have a jump/skills/bike park at the bottom. A launch ramp with an air bag like that TexPlex place had, plus progressive jump lines, a foam pit... I think that would do well. An area where you could work on the skills that you use up on the runs.

I'd certainly give the place a try at $50 for a day.

As far as 512 is concerned, I'd give that a go but my perception of the Cat Mtn area is that it is all very advanced. If there were room for progression, I'd be more likely to join. I'm an ok technical rider but I have never been much for jumping, tbh.

After being off the bike for 8yrs, I could use a area like that. Needless to say my jumping skills are going to need to be started from scratch. Some things are coming back, some seem lost. Haha

Put another way that is the same as 4 single day passes. One day a month for four months.

Keep in mind that buying land, installing a lift, powering the lift, maintaining the whole place is expensive. And it all has to be paid with lift ticket revenue.

Just curious since I'm not a golfer - what are green fees running these days??? How does a full day on the lift compare with a game of

VRBO has some listings there as well. We're renting a small house with fenced yard for $99 a night next week for six nights. It is 2 blocks from the downtown Square area, also near Crystal Bridges, and right between Coler and Slaughter Pen trailheads a few blocks away on either side.

Will look. Will you let me know how the house is. We are getting ready to book.

This one is a little pricier, but we had a big group. Very comfortably slept 8 and the bike accommodations were second to none. Rode 1/3 mile to drop in at Slaughter Pens, starting at Red Barn.

    Highly recommended.

Thanks for the write up on the area on your site. I've read through it couple of times. Pretty damn excited to go

Stayed here and it was great! Big bonus, to me, was you get access to a 2 car garage for storage of bikes and etc. Price has gone up since we were there last June though(still worth it IMO). I think we paid around 115 a night and its now around the 140s. I was just up there for Thanksgiving and it wasn't available for rental and we ended up staying at another place that wasnt as good in comparison. The kitchen at that house has a lot of pots and pans and they supply GOOD coffee, lol, not Foldgers like most places. You can ride Slaughter Pen from that house and downtown is 2 or 3 blocks away if you want to walk or ride for meals. The house supplied a wagon and we walked to the Walmart to shop and walked home.

Ha, she found that one last night.  It's on the list. Thanks

  6. We did point six twice. BMX loop was a little hard for her, but she did it.

I noticed most go across the bridge on the concrete path. Is there a trailhead off of that to connect log loop and old powerline?

I m used to crossing at the creek, and going up that way. Granted was 8yrs ago. I see trail markers, but nothing labeled.

I’m actually considering just building a large 6 by 8 foot plank out of 2x10’s and laying it across. I think that’ll keep water moving underneath it, and not disrupt the feature of the trail too much.

I'll help you with that if needed
