  2. People riding muddy trails again. Use the Strava "Flyby" function to see who rode the trails yesterday. Seems like the chain worked in keeping people off Peddlers Pass.

Deception and Picnic were perfect yesterday. Even the big puddle on upper Picnic that was there Sunday was gone. We did not ride Peddlers because we assumed it was still wet.

  3. To be honest, I only did the one you do for a long time. The take off and landing are flatter and you have a better visual of the landing. That makes you feel safe. In reality the other side is a way smoother landing and once I started doing it. You just need a little more commitment because it seems taller and the almost blind take off.  I rarely do the lower side now.  The rock in the landing you don’t even feel

That’s what I needed to hear. Thanks! I need to hit this one and then I have one more on Picnic, the one on the west end with the downhill landing.

  4. I hate how easy and small everything seems in pictures. I am very comfortable doing this drop but I still get a nice adrenaline rush every time. This was this Saturday.

I’ve only done the one next to it. How does it compare? The rocks look sketchy to land on.

  5. Loved the Grindstone Trail system in Ruidoso.  New-ish and IMBA designed and built, utilizing the watershed for a new reservoir.  Has a fun flow trail you can take once you do the long, well designed climb to the top.

The Cedar Creek or “spaghetti bowl” trails are really fun also. It starts behind the fire station on Meecham. Really fun flow trail.

  6. This is one of the few benefits of carbon. Once an aluminum rim gets severely out of true it's never the same, impossible to get even spoke tension and trueness together. Regardless of how out of true a carbon hoop gets once you relieve spoke tension it goes back to its original shape, whereas aluminum once it's bent it wants to stay that way.

I need some internet advice on this rim. I think I bent it when I cased it on the bridge by the railroad tracks on the BCRT by Mulligan. The bead hasn’t broken and it still holds air but sealant is weeping some. I’ve done a whole day at Spider Mountain and rode for a couple of hours on it last night. Is this fixable? Should I just not worry about it unless it gets worse? Is this kind of thing under warranty? The rim is six months old. a057297c0ffa032ff1bfd7cdee025e5c.jpga057297c0ffa032ff1bfd7cdee025e5c.jpg9f3a18cd83cae3da8d54b60bb9e706d5.jpg

  7. I swear this bug has been sitting here in that same spot since last week. Maybe that is what the nasty smell is over by Peddlers ?

Think that trunk is big enough to hold a body?

  8. RPR is on the list of considerations for some day soon. Only snag is I may want to stay Sunday night wherever I choose to go and the RPR policy specifies camping being available only for Friday and Saturday nights.
Flat Creek is looking promising. Watching for Jimmy to update the conditions.
Haven't been to either of those places in a long time and both have new-to-me trails to explore.

Canyon of the Eagles is just up the road from RPR for camping or nice rooms.

  9. I thought you were talking about this book. But Forest Ridge and Rifle Range are not in there. And I don't think ARR had anything to do with this book. I would love to see that book if you can find it.
Sorry the image is upside down. I have no clue how to fix it. I rotated the image in Paint and reloaded it, but it still comes back in upside down.

Haha. My wife found this at Goodwill or somewhere and put it in my stocking for Xmas. A lot has changed since this came out. I wonder if I still have my Kelly Creek t-shirt somewhere.
