Anyone know if Spider is going to update their Friday hours? Open 2-6 but the sun goes down at 5:30 this time of year.
I was wondering the same thing. Thinking of going out tomorrow.

Had two deer run in front of me on double down this morning. It would suck to get broadsided by one of those delicious bastards.

I rode it again last night. It’s an easy roll without the rock there. It seems way more sketchy with a big, loose rock in there.

I rode both lines last weekend and the work done is awesome. I used to ride it all the time but I haven’t been over there in a few years. It was nostalgic even though it looks quite a bit different.

I land by the tree past the rocks and it's smooth as butter!
Awesome. You really pull up on the bike coming off that lip. I’m pretty new to jumping but have been checking these drops off one by one. I recently started hitting this one on Picnic.

Deception and Picnic were perfect yesterday. Even the big puddle on upper Picnic that was there Sunday was gone. We did not ride Peddlers because we assumed it was still wet.

Anybody checked the trails today? I’m wondering if Deception will be rideable this evening.

To be honest, I only did the one you do for a long time. The take off and landing are flatter and you have a better visual of the landing. That makes you feel safe. In reality the other side is a way smoother landing and once I started doing it. You just need a little more commitment because it seems taller and the almost blind take off. I rarely do the lower side now. The rock in the landing you don’t even feel
That’s what I needed to hear. Thanks! I need to hit this one and then I have one more on Picnic, the one on the west end with the downhill landing.

That does look fantastic! But could you please reach out to someone and have them re-route the trail the other direction? I wall ride much better to the left....

Me too! I also turn to the left much better on skis.

Craigslist casual encounters? “You have a sexy, lifted Lexus with a bike rack. I am a mountain biker, covered in dirt and sweat circling your truck waiting for you to arrive because I have some questions.”

Loved the Grindstone Trail system in Ruidoso. New-ish and IMBA designed and built, utilizing the watershed for a new reservoir. Has a fun flow trail you can take once you do the long, well designed climb to the top.
The Cedar Creek or “spaghetti bowl” trails are really fun also. It starts behind the fire station on Meecham. Really fun flow trail.

I see it as knocking the uppity off them, making them better adults.
I will never forget my mom picking me up from seventh grade on a baby blue 50cc moped that could barely fit both of us.

Coming down pretty good on Far West right now. Hopefully it stops quickly. I don’t want to have to spend the evening with my family.

This is one of the few benefits of carbon. Once an aluminum rim gets severely out of true it's never the same, impossible to get even spoke tension and trueness together. Regardless of how out of true a carbon hoop gets once you relieve spoke tension it goes back to its original shape, whereas aluminum once it's bent it wants to stay that way.
I need some internet advice on this rim. I think I bent it when I cased it on the bridge by the railroad tracks on the BCRT by Mulligan. The bead hasn’t broken and it still holds air but sealant is weeping some. I’ve done a whole day at Spider Mountain and rode for a couple of hours on it last night. Is this fixable? Should I just not worry about it unless it gets worse? Is this kind of thing under warranty? The rim is six months old.

I rode that drop last night for the first time. It’s fun but I think flowing over the berms is more fun.

I swear this bug has been sitting here in that same spot since last week. Maybe that is what the nasty smell is over by Peddlers ?
Do we need to go back to Carcas cafe ?

Think that trunk is big enough to hold a body?

I bought a full face and crashed into a tree breaking the visor on my first day wearing it. As I was going down I was thinking, “I’m glad I bought this helmet.” Crash at 3:30.

Good looking for sure! One of their last metal frames I assume.

I’ll second Seth’s plug for Guerrilla Gravity. I love my Smash. Mine is 140 rear, 150 front and I’ve cleaned climbs on it that I never made on my 110mm Camber. It was really fun at Spider Mountain and is perfect at Deception where I normally ride.

So is anyone going to opening day mañana? It’s going to be cold but I still want to skip out on work and go.

RPR is on the list of considerations for some day soon. Only snag is I may want to stay Sunday night wherever I choose to go and the RPR policy specifies camping being available only for Friday and Saturday nights.
Flat Creek is looking promising. Watching for Jimmy to update the conditions.
Haven't been to either of those places in a long time and both have new-to-me trails to explore.
Canyon of the Eagles is just up the road from RPR for camping or nice rooms.

I thought you were talking about this book. But Forest Ridge and Rifle Range are not in there. And I don't think ARR had anything to do with this book. I would love to see that book if you can find it.
Sorry the image is upside down. I have no clue how to fix it. I rotated the image in Paint and reloaded it, but it still comes back in upside down.
Haha. My wife found this at Goodwill or somewhere and put it in my stocking for Xmas. A lot has changed since this came out. I wonder if I still have my Kelly Creek t-shirt somewhere.
