  1. That is awesome Yosmithy.  Definitely not preachy at all.   Weight matters.  I'm trying to lost about 65 pounds over the next 9 months is my goal.  I'll admit, my desire to become a better biker is a large reason for that.    Congrats on 18.07 on PP, that's a good time.  I'm also thinking of doing 1/4 notch first from now on as well.  I've got PP, Picnic (non basket drop, and that one berm turn at the bridge) down, so I'm trying to progress through 1/4.

  2. You are not crazy.  The humidity was smothering last night.  Conditions were great though.  I set PRs on Reverse Rim Job (I named it 🙂 ) and Picnic X, but I completely burned out midway through 1/4 notch.  My body was just like, nope, we are done.

I’m 270lbs age 40 and I can climb it fine. 3 years ago I couldn’t even do a mile of 1/4 notch without feeling I didn’t belong on a bike anymore. So just put in some seat time and courage. Ride with people that are better than you

Are you on Strava.  I'm 300lbs and 44 so it would be nice to see how I am comparing to comparable people 🙂

Started working on cutting the overgrowth on Lower Picnic today. Still more to do, but I was starting to run low on gas (the brush hog and myself) so called it quits for the day.

I really appreciate the work.  I ride Picnic almost every ride and it will be so nice to have that trimmed.

  4. I was looking on Strava today at some times.  For 1/4 notch it says the top time is about 14 minutes?   Is that really right?  Someone is doing ALL of quarter notch in less than 15 minutes???  Hell, I'd be super impressed with 20.

  5. Does anyone know why the last drop at the basket drop area on Picnic is now blocked off with wood.  This was going to be the one I try to get used to a drop in like that and it seemed to be the most  "rollable"  Just make no sense to me to block that one off.

As to Suburban Ninja, PLEASE stay off the jump line at the top.  We were doing maintenance/revisions on Sunday.  The step down is dope now, but the second jump is still under revision.  We're making it lippy-er to give better flow, but I had to bail and am now in Australia.  My son and wife should fix it within the next couple days, but please respect the closure in the meantime.  Thanks!

thanks for all the work you do on SN!  It has become my favorite trail!
