1993 Emma long city park on a borrowed rigid Schwinn sierra. I thought it was rad and was instantly hooked. I don’t remember having to dismount and walk any back then. Now it’s too rough for me even on a long travel full suspension.

Eastside!
Yep haha on the ATB!..I’ve been eyeing the new segment of kenney fort, thinking it will open up easy access to the Pflugerville greenway jog/biking paths

If money is an issue, here’s the frame I’m using. No complaints been great

Maybe you’d like it better if weighed less? 30 lbs for modern bikes is light but if riding tech where having to lift front/back up ledges/using a lot of arm strength. I prefer a lighter bike. Heavy modern fs bikes on buff single track or rough fast downhills/jumps are another thing and no problem maybe/probably better in that regard

Ah no problem, don’t feel sorry talking bikes is fun. Riding even more fun. If fun isn’t found in the new stuff sell it and buy something different.

Did the front end geometry change any, could be the cause? I’d suggest a bigger rear tire, for more compliance. The rigid 27.5+ SS I’ve been riding as an experiment, I really like it. 3.0 tires seem to be enough suspension for my XC riding. The steering was kinda quick so I installed a wider bar and that seemed to help. But then I installed a lower offset carbon fork and now feels even better. Rails corners now were before seemed nervous. Fork trail geometry figure went from 100mm to 107mm.

I’ve enjoyed the urban/trail ride there in Georgetown, surprised me actually, meaning better than I expected. There’s even some trail at wolf ranch that connects via the new hike n bike path. I think there will/could probably be much more trail in the future also. Could easily string a loop with it all, including the lake Georgetown trail.

I need to finally pay for the whole thing and then just wait for shipping to come through. Based on recent experiences with shipping, global systems are run with the same kind of efficiency that Southwest Airlines has, so I'll get it some time in 2024.
just kidding
I need to treat inside tubes for anti-rust and assemble. hopefully the headtube and BB tube don't give me any grief. that internal dropper post port looks like it might force a tight bend, but I'll deal with it one way or another. That bend in the seat tube is super low, which should give me plenty of room for the long dropper post I bought in anticipation. I just hope the geometry holds true to my intentions.
Nice frame!

Thanks, yep that’s the place. Sad but interesting seeing the terrain without trees.
