Raw frames still have a clear coat applied even if it’s a matte finish. It serves as a UV protectant. I would cover the main areas exposed to debris kicked up from your tires at minimum. Just get matte material if your frame is matte.

What are the brain trusts thoughts on wrapping a raw carbon frame? Since there’s no paint to “chip”.... I suspect there’s still a matte clear coat on some frames? Maybe still wrap it just to protect my “investment”?

What are the 3.0s?

Well, full disclosure: I’m asking for my daughter (soon to be 13). I just bought her a (new to us) bike to get started racing and it came with 27.5 x 3.0’s. Wondering if it’s worth it to get a 2.6 or 2.4 set up to have options for various trail conditions??
The wheel set is wtb st i40’s. The rim seems pretty wide for a 2.4 or 2.6 tire. Definitely on the heavy side.
Am I over-thinking it? I raced BMX in blue jeans in the 80’s and won a shit load of races.

Heading there to camp this weekend with the family and we’re taking the bikes. Hopefully the trails will open back up by then. I know there’s a 3, 8, and 12 mile trail. Anyone been? What type of trails? Rocky? Flow-ie? Technical?

I guess I’ve never been too picky with seats personally- I’ve always been happy with the stock seat on each of my bikes. Maybe I don’t know what I’m missing???

Get advice from women. Men don't understand women's saddles. That has been my experience for years.

I’m desperately trying to get my wife into riding- she has no intention of bombing down spider mountain, but slightly more challenging than the typical hike and bike. She has a bike she likes, but finding a comfy saddle is the next quest. I’m trying to help her understand that the wide super gel beach cruiser seat can be more problematic than the more minimal seat.

Can y’all offer some ideas so I can fill a Christmas gift?
