What are the brain trusts thoughts on wrapping a raw carbon frame? Since there’s no paint to “chip”.... I suspect there’s still a matte clear coat on some frames? Maybe still wrap it just to protect my “investment”? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, full disclosure: I’m asking for my daughter (soon to be 13). I just bought her a (new to us) bike to get started racing and it came with 27.5 x 3.0’s. Wondering if it’s worth it to get a 2.6 or 2.4 set up to have options for various trail conditions?? The wheel set is wtb st i40’s. The rim seems pretty wide for a 2.4 or 2.6 tire. Definitely on the heavy side. Am I over-thinking it? I raced BMX in blue jeans in the 80’s and won a shit load of races. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for all of the feedback. What I’m gathering is this isn’t turning out to be a surprise Cmas gift idea. Oh well... I’m desperately trying to get my wife into riding- she has no intention of bombing down spider mountain, but slightly more challenging than the typical hike and bike. She has a bike she likes, but finding a comfy saddle is the next quest. I’m trying to help her understand that the wide super gel beach cruiser seat can be more problematic than the more minimal seat. Can y’all offer some ideas so I can fill a Christmas gift?
