  1. Well, heading out there Thursday afternoon, staying for two nights. I have a solution for the stickers that kill socks, and no commitments other than relaxing. I'm leaving Lily the dog at home for this trip.

I have a scope mounted on the Savage sniper (haha, hunting actually) so gonna get some shooting in as well.

  2. Two different things affect the trails there...

    1. Eclipse leftovers - Apparently there were 40,000 attending the festival until the Sheriff's office shut it down for flood concerns. There are a few concrete bridges that have been damaged by the latest flood. There are b-lines to go around them without issue.

    2. Those evil little round stickers that love to attach to our socks permanently.

They have a skid steer ready and are starting trail maintenance so it should improve. I'm camping there in a couple weeks but it's more just a short away from home trip. I don't see myself riding there often. TBF, I have not ridden all of it, so my opinion is from a narrow sampling.

  3. Ok, just got back. I have to say that place is WILD. It was raining, and I had a blast. Fell down a few times, met some cool people.

The RED trails are the challenging ones, and they will harm you if you aren't paying attention. Very rustic. They have cabins as well but they are sold out the weekend I'm going.

Oh yeah, rode the BMX/flow/jump line and it tried to kill me also.

    Oh, yeah....one more thing.

I am VERY glad to have a class one e-bike.   And I forgot to take any pics.

  4. Deborah, my amazing wife is comfortable with me doing more than one night away. She has serious medical issues that make things a little more tricky. We always discuss things like this, with kindness.

I'm planning on 2 nights just to get a taste of all of it. It's only a couple hours away but it's like any out of town trip.

They have an 800 yard range, and...I have a Savage 110 Stealth Evolution chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum. No scope in pic, but it has an e-bikes worth of glass on it now.

At about 4 months post Achilles surgery- got cleared to use a stationary bike about a month ago and started coasting round the neighborhood in the last couple of weeks. Still no mountain biking but feeling hopeful to return to easy trails in the next month or two. Still a long way from anything demanding.
Also hoping my vanishing calf muscle returns.

    Fantastic news.

    Enjoy the peace and quiet.

It looks great. It's close enough that I can be home quickly if anything needs my attention. Deborah has a long history of heart issues and that is always on my mind. She is amazing, and tends to hide things so I don't worry.

Anyway, I think arriving there early Thursday, and coming home late Saturday would make for a fun trip.

  7. I see that the trails are closed Monday thru Thursday, then appear open for the next month. Is this normal or maybe a result of flood damage?

I plan on 3 days and two nights just me and my new baby Bronco and my e-bike. My wife's health is not ideal and I have someone to stay with her for that time.

I honestly need a break. I'll contact them of course, just wondering if anyone has info to share.
