    Strangest stuff I've seen.....

People are rioting, setting fire to small businesses, taking over areas of cities, trying to get rid of police, tearing down monuments (no matter what they stood for), beating the crap out of people on the street for no reason, pulling people out of their cars to beat them too..... All in our own country.

And we're arguing about masks. To prevent a disease with an almost 100% survival rate.

    Strange indeed.

Wait until the economic crisis starts to roll... Strange will take on a whole new look.

Anybody have a 38 or 40 tooth 104 BCD front ring?  Willing to trade for it.  Have a ton of stuff.  Roadie/mtb/etc  Tell me what you need.

I have like a zillion chainrings... I'm sure I have what you want. I'll check.

  3. No doubt about it... Very cool. And reading up about external dropper post cable routing, one of the little issues constantly spoken about is how the cable extends out from under the seat when you drop it.

Are you able to do a few of these to sell?

Do you wear a helmet when you ride? What if you fall on tree branch and it impales you through the heart? A helmet can’t protect you from that so why even bother wearing any safety gear at all?

I'm thinking the above might need to be simplified some more... And even then, it might not be understood.

Honestly, it's just pretty, and sadly, amazing that this needs to be explained at all.

I just had to meet someone in the Domain to pick up something... I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Not because of the virus, but because of the abject human ignorance on display. It's like a fool's domain.

  5. Thanks mack_turtle... I'm pretty sure I have a set... Just needed to get the other garage to be able to unpack the one they are in so I can get to them. That seat post will be great. The kid who the bike was for is just a few streets up from you. I built a green and silver Giant Iguana for him but the seat post it came with was long. Not sure why, as the bike is a small. But it happens when you buy older bikes... People change things around over the years. Thanks again, he'll be very happy.

I’ve got a couple, one fairly new Nevegal and a couple of Nobby Nics I think?

    Anyone have any road pedals?

I think I have a couple sets. And I can always use tires for my builds. I'll check today and let you know.

This is nothing more than my opinion, and it's worth exactly $0.00 to the rest of the world. I'm sure a lot of you disagree, and that's fine.

    Unfortunately, that's not really true.

Opinions don't just end at the typing of one on an online forum... Opinions lead to a type of living that includes how you interact with those around you... Which, in the case of a virus, can mean that your opinion can end up causing the death of someone.

If I came to your place of business, and you required a mask while I was there, I'd wear one. If you came to my place, I wouldn't. This kind of compromise I understand.

Which would only expose your uncaring attitude towards customers... Who should simply turn around and walk out. How quickly your attitude would change.

If you really want a solution and not a political platform, the answer is to keep living your life as you feel appropriate, BUT with some concern as to what others feel is appropriate. It's called compromise and compassion. Realize that small businesses and the economy as a whole needs everybody to participate. As a small business owner in an industry that has been hit very hard by this, I know I'm going to do everything possible to make my customers feel safe. It's really a shame that everyone who wants the economy to get back on track does not share the same outlook and are unwilling to at least do the minimum.

Only a selfish jackass of a human being would reject the above simply way of thinking/conduct.

This week I had to spend some time up in north Austin, in the Cedar Park area. I had to go into a couple stores and was amazed at how man people were not wearing masks... Even in stores that had signs up on their front door asking customers to wear masks. It was kind of revealing to me regarding how different elements of society think... I can honestly say that non-mask wearing seemed more prevalent there than in the SW where I live.

Thanks for the video! I've always wanted to do drops and have sort of pretended by just rolling down some steep 4ish feet drops that aren't really drops. I watched the videos above last night and decided to just go for it. Went out to Christ Church this morning and after riding the trails pulled out the GoPro and got some video of my first attempts at real drops. Don't think I did too bad for my first session. Some felt pretty smooth, others not so much. Any tips are appreciated!

I notice that there seems to be a little forward pull on his body as the front of the bike heads down to the ground — on the higher drop. This I know can be a bit disconcerting for the rider. How do you counter it happening?

  11. I think I've said it somewhere else on a thread... So again... Proper community is built in and out of sacrifice... I give a little, he gives a little, you give a little... All with the same view/end result.

But human nature is not real sacrifice leaning... Unless there is a big stick hovering over it.

Wearing a mask just takes a little sacrifice on your part. It's not a white flag of independence defeatism. It simply is an expression of good community.

And truth be told... Participating in good community is one of the highest levels of independence expression.

It's yours.  I'm in RR, but work South. Can meet just about whenever.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I live in SW, near where 290 and Mopac intersect. And i work out of home, so I'm pretty flexible with time. Let me know what works for you and I'll figure out how to work around it.
