Look forward to going out there once it opens!

Excellent! 🙂

I have to strongly consider this! Never done two laps, much less three. I don't think two would be too bad, but three would be a doozy! At least it should be cooler in November, right? Maybe?

Great! At least I know two people will be using it! 🙂

You're welcome!

I didn't have the permissions setup properly -- it was only visible to me. I've fixed that, so you should be able to see it now.

Is that your Twitter account? Do you live near the trail?

If that bike is not stolen or a scam - that is a great deal
What do they normally go for?

Well, that's a bit disconcerting. That could be pretty bad if it happened while you're cruising down the highway at 70mph.

Man, that sucks. Seems really odd that it would break like that on its own. I have one of those racks as well. I wonder how heavy that piece is.

I moved this into the "Site Feedback" forum.

On another forum I run we have a "Free Games and Stuff" forum, where people can start a thread when they want to get rid of some items (usually for the cost of shipping, since it's not a "local" forum). When someone gets rid of the items, they can update the post that it's gone and it can be locked so it doesn't ride back up. Thread title will contain the name of the item (or type of items) being given away. There's a 'Marketplace' group here (with the "Bikes for Sale" and "Bike Components" forums), and we could do a similar thing here. I don't want to put every thread in "Mountain Biking".

Tire choice. I know it is a bike part, but I feel like it gets its own category based on the number 20 pagers it incited.
I can make a whole forum just for tires. 🚲

Did you fall in?

Two questions:
- Do you work or race for Kona?
- What is holding those bikes up on the wall?
Unfortunately, I already have too many bikes (if that's such a thing), so I cannot buy your Private Jake.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that, seeing that response I'm pretty sure I used the wrong IP when I setup DKIM and SPF. This forum has a dedicated IP, but the mail server is using a different IP.

Will be out there tomorrow riding it. Unfortunately, not all 80 miles of it.

Yes, mine went to spam in Gmail, I reported it as not spam.
Thanks for the feedback. I haven't been able to figure out why Gmail will let most email from the forum through, but will periodically mark them as spam. I've had the same problem with other servers in the past.

You do realize that if they aren't getting emails that they cannot complete registration and won't see this thread.
The whole forum (thus far) is visible to guests, but they would not be able to directly. The contact link at the bottom of the page would still work, though. I sent you a private message here, but you may not have seen it. I'll investigate the problem with your GMX account and see what I can glean. Will need to take a look at the server logs to see if emails to your account are being rejected. Will report back as soon as I've done this.

Pay It Forward
in Mountain Biking Discussion
Posted
Once I'm happy with the way the forum is setup, I'm going to promote the forum to attract new members. I don't really want to see everything in one forum. I'd like the "Mountain Biking" forum to be primarily about mountain biking in terms of riding. If you're just looking for (or want to sell) a bike or parts, you can easily go to those forums to find them. Likewise, if you're looking for trail conditions, going to the Trail Conditions forum and looking for the trail you're interested in will be much easier than looking through a ton of posts in this forum. Same thing with Off Topic posts. As the site gets busier, I will have a heavier hand as far as trying to keep things organized.
With this forum software, it's easy to setup custom "activity streams" that let you see new content in just the forums you want.
https://austinmountainbiking.com/index.php?/discover/&do=create
Under "Content Types", select "Topics", click the gear icon to the right, then you can select whatever forums you are interested in seeing new content for.
You can then save this stream and call it whatever you'd like and invoke it again in the future in the Activity drop-down at the top of the page. And you can bookmark those streams in your browser.
This forum is pretty simple in terms of organization compared to many forums. On my AtariAge site, there are over 120 different forums.. There are only 12 here, and I don't expect it to get much more complex than that.
