Little log drop on PP was moved 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

It's been that way for a few weeks, the log came loose and HoneyBadger just hasn't had time to put it back together safely.

It's tight, but totally doable. I've only fell off twice on a 27.5 Banshee Rune. I'd say 50% of the riders clear it. I've solicited feedback on widening that turn: some want to keep it for the challenge, some would like it widened. At present, I leaning toward widening a bit for the 29r guys who seem to be the ones who struggle with it the most. I'm currently cheating a bit, as I pretty much only riding my 26" slopestyle bike out there😎

I say keep it however you like it since it’s your feature and your hard work. I’ll take my 27.5 hardtail out there and I bet I’d be fine.

The Smash is a long bike. Mine drags on the ground sometimes when I put it on the lift at Spider Mtn.

Yeah, it’s much longer than my other bikes.

I did check it again today by walking it and it’s possible, but there’s a point that would require the front tire to be half on the boards and the rear half on at the same time.

Went out today and that's some great work! Thank you! But how in the sam hell do y'all stay on that foot wide wood feature? My back wheel kept falling off and when I kept it on the front wheel went off! Any tips?

I have a GG Smash as well, And I’ve walked it on this feature to test and it’s just too long. I haven’t had a chance yet, but I’d guess my hardtail or old Felt full suspension could make it.....with the right rider.

I rode this trail 3X last week and put it back each time. The trail is now flush with neighbor hood walkers and dogs with legs too short to get over these.

I rode at sunrise this morning and the log was back.  I think all the moving back and forth has made it loose and stick up much higher, but had I not seen this post i wouldn't have known it was removed.

Poking around a bit, it seems like almost anyone can add trails and segments. I'd be surprised if ARR had officially taken this task on, since - to my knowledge - the SATN, with the exception of Slaughter Creek, are not within the ARR purview. But hey, you never know. I've been on Pinkbike a while, I'll see if I can find an admin to ask.

There was a post about some brushy trails by a trail forks volunteer.  I can’t remember the name of the fb post, but I think @First Blood or @rugger responded to him.

  7. Along the lines of the main trail tourists, the alternate route is open again so you can skip the dam to get to/from the trail east of brushy creek park. The dam gets crowded, but alt route is wide open.

only part I don’t like is coming from brushy to champions, the wall they built closest to champions is kinda blind to cars coming out of the new neighborhood,  so be aware.

I think I'll just need to walk Snail next time I'm out there to take a look at these cool features without actually killing myself.  😄

     ..Al

Next time I ride out there I may just bring a chair so I can sit and watch the attempts.

I havent ridden SN in about 3 weeks or so and went out for a quickie last evening. So any reason why the section on the east side of the main trail, the section that's had the large pile of rocks in the shape of a triangle at its entrance.. the rocks were all gone. The bridge was gone . There was brush blocking a bit of the trail. Still not entirely blocked but someone made quite an effort to dissuade riding. I saw something from AJ about someone who has gone out of their way blocking the trails.

    Curious minds want to know.

The random half assed blocking in other sections is not pleasant

Was this the trail that leads to the bridge that was missing at least one plank? If so, maybe the bridge gave way? Of course, this doesn’t explain the other stuff you saw.

Any chance this race DOESN’T get postponed now? Rained Sunday, yesterday, today and more tomorrow. Not much sun in the forecast. When would be the next race date?

I would guess it will be a call made on Friday.  HoneyBadger has been hard at work on certain sections as I've seen new drainage trenches in a few areas the past few rides.  I hope it doesn't get postponed.

Can we claim this as ARR volunteering?  We get volunteer hours at work.

Now that's a hell of an idea.  We have that type of program at my work too.  Only problem is that I'm commission based, so getting paid a very minimal hourly wage doesn't justify it.  I like that way of thinking though, well played.

Take a look at this video of Peddlers Pass just one year ago, it's hardly recognisable.

I can see the general line, but you're right, it looks so much different now.  Just think if this continued to the east side and how much has changed over there.

Very interesting how you can see the different skill levels in just watching two seconds of a ride.

I wish I had longer clips of each rider, but the terrain out there only allowed for close up clips.  Plus, those guys were hauling through rough spots, very impressive.

  14. For those of you not on Facebook and the MTB group where I posted these yesterday, here are some clips from the stages I was at for the Cat Mountain race.  Keep in mind I was using an Iphone and this was my first time editing videos together.  Enjoy.

No sign's should be backwards. The whole trail is now counter-clockwise. I'll check the signs

Now that I think about it, when i was out there on Saturday I came across a father and daughter going the wrong way.  They said they saw an arrow pointing the other direction, so I had them take me to the spot.  One of the paver arrows was turned and pointing the wrong direction so I fixed it.  I didn't think there could be others that had been moved.

So trying to ease back into riding some, went over to the "new" peddlers for some low impact pedaling... Wow, someone's been hard at work! I guess it's been a couple of years since I rode it last (since finger recovery). Question though: I started the right direction at the entrance, and seemed to continue the correct direction (arrow signs facing me), until I reached the creek section closest to the eastern-most ball field parking lot, where I noticed some of the signs faced the other direction... I decided to just keep going, and once I passed back under Parmer, the signs were facing me again... I'm fairly certain I didn't jump-trail twice, but since many of the re-used segments reversed direction with the new trails and re-routes, it's possible that I did out of old habit... or are the signs backwards?

Do you have a Strava screen shot? I might be able to see if you jumped trail by accident.

Feels like a demo on concrete is the wrong way to test a pivot, those bikes need dirt.

The Suburban Ninja trail system starts at the Peddler so there is lots of dirt to test on.....assuming it isn't too wet.

Day was amazing, but brought out so many. I had 3 near collisions on 1/4 notch on blind corners I decided today was a day to head home before something bad happened. I was even looking out for it and still had close calls.

Rode Peddler's last night. Whole tree down on west side, a couple turns back from upper bridge. Easy to get around as it's only covering about 6 feet of trail.

I'm sure HoneyBadger will see this, but I'll bring it up tomorrow morning for the work day as a reminder.

If that map is accurate, the last part near the Peddler's Shop looks like it would go right through parts of SN.  Hopefully the contractor will work with AJ to try and not destroy too much of the trail like when the new concrete was poured near Peddler's Pass.
