Deception is an example of mtbers putting in trail and now a lot of trail users out there.

I flew international on Delta with a bike.
The trip there was OK except for the foot shaped hole in the side of my bike box.
On the return trip, it looks like my bike box fell off the luggage tram and was dragged on the tarmac. Fortunately my frame was titanium or it would have been destroyed also.
Delta sucked.

And then they walk around with this, "Look at me... Look at me... I live in Austin..." kind of puffed up disposition.
Gotta wonder.WTF is with that? I think a bunch of us here have been in Austin a long time. It wasn't until the last few years that people ask how long you've been here like it's a competition. Who cares?

I rode Harriman a long time ago. It was part of a multi-day trip that ended up in Grand Tetons.

Phil's was a blast.
Tomorrow I start a 5 day guided trip out of Durango. We start with Hermosa Creek then hook up with the Colorado Trail.

Also, does Osprey have an outlet store in town?

I'll be in Cortez Saturday. How long should I allow for Phil's World?
Is Geer worth a warm up ride when I get into town?

As long as the pan handler doesn't set up a tent and camp there....oh wait. Never mind. That's cool now apparently.
This ain't Austin.

I'll be using some of the GoFundMe money to add bigger/better signage at all the entry points. Probably a 4"x4" post (or bigger) with all the information cnc'd on to the faces. I'll also be repurposing some of the cedar trees I've cut down as fencing to block the un-sanctioned entrances, especially under Parmer.
Post up if you need help getting this installed.

Ultimately what I was getting at was "we" assume a direction because it's obvious to us.
I very politely tried to let someone know it was one way and I was greeted with "who the fuck are you?"
That's when I noticed there are numerous entry points with no signage.
The most problematic area is the sidewalk. But I've come across people on the other side of Parmer going the wrong way. Makes things kind of exciting when hammering.

People jump in at multiple points where they shouldn't. They are not official/sanctioned/correct, but people still use them was all I was getting at.
That's what I'm trying to get at also. I see people cruise up the concrete path and head out on the trail.

Yea you enter to the right. Pretty sure there are arrows at the entrance indicating direction.
I'm aware of the direction. I've noticed others are not.

Is Peddlers one way? I assume so. Been seeing people go the wrong way and then I noticed there are no signs at entry points indicating direction.

My first mtb had quick release and lawyer lips.
I forgot to check the front QR and I was practicing bunny hopping.
On my way home I bunny hopped something on concrete paving. Mid air and I noticed my front wheel stayed on the ground. Impact was painful.
I've always checked my wheels since then.

I bet a Girvin Flex stem never needed to be rebuilt.
I remember riding a sweet Proflex with a Girvin at City Park marveling at all that suspension.

Hey guys...headed to Durango in a couple weeks with 3-4 riding days. Overwhelming amount of trail there.
What are “must rides”? I’m assuming the 45min drive to Phil’s World is obligatory?
thanks in advance
I'm headed to Durango for a 5 day guided trip. We start out at Hermosa and ride some of the Colorado Trail. I'm headed up early and plan on Phil's World

Back in my Ironman days, I found giving encouragement to others actually helped me.
You still have a couple weeks to get nutrition dialed in.
I found Infinit with a gel pack an hour worked well for me.

Does anyone have any experience with folding bikes to take on trips just to tool around a city? Does the bag end up being some weird oversized checked bag on the airlines? Which are the best ones?
about to start research but curious if anyone here knows about these things or has experience with them. I’d love to have a bike that I can have just for the occasion where I am flying to a metro area as long as they aren’t totally cost prohibitive or the reality of them blows vs the idea
I had a road bike frame made with S&S couplers. It fit in a suitcase I could check like regular luggage.

I got a beautiful, lugged steel frame road bike from Bilenky. They also build bikes like what you're looking for.

When we were out there Saturday working a family went by and they had a little girl , maybe 3rd or 4th grade. She rode by us and said real loud and happy "this is the best trail EVER!!"
Somehow hearing her and seeing the smiles of her family mean alot to me as a dad and Honeybadger and KOM should be real proud.
A trail that can make a little grom like her smile and a crusty old rider smile then that's cool.

I think she made all of us out there smile.

24 Hours of Rocky Hill night lap.
I stopped as a huge snake was slithering across the trail. Another rider sees it and hollers out, WOOHOO! SNAKE!" as he bunny hopped it.
I guess I did it wrong.

A buddy of mine rode a Transition at Outerbike in 2016. He had no plans to buy a bike, but after that he bought a Transition within a couple weeks. He loves it.
