Looks like you’ll also need a vice, soft jaws, 22mm chamferless socket, heat gun, and DVO’s special oil catch can.Â
ÂReading the instructions, it does looks fairly simple compared to other damper services, but it does require a number of tools that you’re average home mechanic doesn’t have.Â
I clamped my damper in my bike stand. A hair dryer will work. Made my own chamfer less socket. You can bleed it without the catch cup. I do think that DVO should supply a catch cup for service though.

Service/rebuild for a Diamond is pretty simple and only requires three new parts. You'll need new wiper seals, a new damper end cap and a new air piston. Along with specified fork oil and slick honey/fork butter.Â
This is the procedure for the damper service;

Hey, I'm durable. How, exactly, did you wear me out?
I don't think we should talk about that on a public forum🤣

Was it the one we traded for? I think that may have been a Works Components ring.
Yeah I think you're right. Apologies to AB.

Well, I got the 30t Oval to work on my SS. It's a strange bike and I was able to adjust the BB shell over a tiny bit, plus found a half thickness BB spacer in the tool box.Â
I also moved the ebay rainbow 32t ring to a different crankset and in doing so noticed it already has some pretty significant wear marks from just one ride. So lesson learned, these cheap rings cannot handle the torque of SS riding. I'll start looking for a good deal on a 104BCD 32T AB ring.Â
I'd look into a Wolftooth. More durable than an AB. I know because I wore out an AB in one season. JMO.

Welds are not always pretty on stans, but dt have always been tension sensitive for me. The new wide stuff from dt seems better.
I've never had any tension issues with DT. Been running 28 hole on everything and they stay true and well tensioned. I also bring them to max tension so the tension doesn't drop too low when I mount tires. You lose about 30% of tension after mounting tires.Â

I think Stans handle tension really well and build up true and round a lot easier/quicker.
Â
Really? My experiences with Stan's have been the opposite. I've built both DT and Stan's and for me the DT's build up easier. The welds on Stan's are terrible.

Wonder what happened to all the hill side ramp jumps at 512 church area? They are all gone.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI'm guessing somebody got seriously injured and they got removed due to liability issues. I was there last fall and watched a girl do a header off the middle one. It looked like she may have broken her collarbone, she was with group of people and they got her out of there. After seeing that my first thought was that this will not be here forever.

Finally broke down and bought this Craftsman toolbox. $100 with tax at Lowes. Seems like a relatively solid deal and has more than enough room.
Now all my sockets are rolling around in the drawers though. Need to visit Michael's to get some foam to cut out an organizer.

Anybody know how to stop this. I get this every time I try to upload a picture. And by stop it I don't mean using a third party website. Third party site is a huge pain in the ass. It has to be something with this website because I don't get it anywhere else. It's F@%king annoying. I'd like to upload pics but don't because of this.

looking at the 2nd to smallest gear (the one that pops on me)
I see small variations in the alignment of the teeth, normal?

Video:

It looks like there may be a bent tooth at the 16 second mark in the video. It looks like one tooth is bent outboard. A bent tooth would definitely cause some shifting issues.

Also, a step beyond learning to fix your bike is learning to maintain your bike.
This just rolled into the shop today:
Yeah, if someone had learned how to take care of their headsets and bearings they would not be having an issue today.
Oh, minor detail: the shop is mine. In my garage. I only work on my bikes.
Yeah, this is the headset on an urban bike that gets ridden in the rain, goes on road trips in desert conditions and has been ridden 4K+ miles per year for the last 3 years.
Normally I take care of my headsets but I had been neglecting this one.Â
Don't let this happen to your bikes, learn to maintain your bikes. This will prevent last minute runs to the shop for parts before another vacation.

AHHH.... the technology never stops progressing. I love indexed steering!🤣

Working on bikes is part of the enjoyment of being a cyclist for me. When I was a kid I was the neighborhood bike mechanic this included mini bikes too. I'm in NW Austin if you need some help.

The way we behave and the amount of damage we've done to this planet in such a short amount of time leads me to believe we will not have as much time here as the dinosaurs did. We talk about colonizing other planets but I think the money and brainpower to do that would be better utilized to fix all the damage we've done here. Or I guess we'll treat all planets the same way we treated this one, as a disposable commodity. Bill Hicks said it best "we're a virus with shoes".

Between the summer heat and possibly another cold winter storm I don't think a lot of the effected trees will make into next year. One thing I've noticed from the trees in my neighborhood is that it appears that the builder trees are the ones that suffered the most. All of the oaks that I see struggling including mine were the trees the builder planted.

760 is the sweet spot for me. Plenty of control and gets through the tree gates fine.

Like new Rockshox Super Deluxe Ultimate 210x50. Has 5 rides on it. Asking $475. This shock in this size is currently $579 new if you can find one. PM me if interested and I'll text pics. Can't upload to this site for some stupid reason.Â

+1 for DMR Vaults. Going on four years now and no play all pins are intact and they look like they've been through hell.

Try some CBD tincture for the arthritis. My husky started having seizures years ago and the vet put him on phenobarbital. The phenobarbital made him nuts so I did some research and got him CBD. He was having two to three seizures a week before the CBD and now has a seizure maybe once every four months or so. CBD would probably help with the day to day pain.
