  1.  Today I rode double down and deception like always e to w. I always get to this feature in the same direction and do the rock garden then a wheelie drop. It is a really fun section. After doing it I looked back and decided to do it the other direction for the first time. I thought it was cool. Video makes it look small like always but it is on a little incline and well above my 27.5+ tires hight

  2. After two good falls a couple years back on jam rock I have always avoided it and just hike it. It was the only feature that got me from 1/4 notch to deception. I gave it a good run and got it on my second try. I feel I unlocked a power or something 😂

edit* never mind, still missing EBD 😑

  3. I did the two newer ones recently after a lot of thought. They just feel so tall as you approach them. You can’t see the landing until you are past the point of no return. I felt very accomplished!   The huge rampage drop on the far left is just too much for me yet.  I do like the straight launch of the ramps much better than rough terrain

You're making shit up, G-outs never had their own names. Dave's Glitch was the name of each of the trails on the either side of Dave's Ditch. Dave's Glitch EAST is the whole trail between the ditch and Rim Job, Dave's Glitch WEST was the whole trail that was on the west side, the one that was closed. Combined they were AKA Campfire Loop.

Been riding brushy three years and on the forum like 2. Still posts like this confuse me enough to laugh 😆

Nice vids @Morris where is the location of the first 2 drops you did on that video?

That wooden drop is at the jaws loop at reville peak ranch might be 4-5ft if you land deeper maybe 5-6ft. The one with the root is at walnut. A little scary to clear the first couple of feet to make it nicer  but not that hard if you drop close.

I know... I'll get blowback on this... But no, Morris... That's not "...what it's about...".

Now, as I've said before... I'm a big fan of yours... But riding isn't about trying to get more skilled to do harder sections... Riding is about enjoyment... And different people have different measures regarding what enjoyment to them is. Right here on this board we have different people saying that they will do so much and no more. So if you go further than them are going to accuse them of not doing "...what it's about..."?

If you're a pro then you gotta make the grade and do what pros do. But if you're just an amateur rider you only have to do what you feel comfortable doing. And should be able to do so without having to be confronted by some people looking down on you.

A few days ago I went riding with my wife on the section of SATN that runs from the cave to Brodie Lane (I don't know the name)... She's ridden it before and enjoyed it, but for whatever reason, on this day she just wasn't into it and even made a comment that she didn't want me to bring her back on it in the future. I just smiled and said sure. And then I reminded her that Slaughter Creek trail, which she loves, is harder.

Some days people are motivated to do harder stuff... Other days people aren't.

And no, this isn't about putting in B lines for every possible harder trail section... Walking sections is a normal part of riding... It's about the opinion that taking a B line is somehow always a cop-out to not putting in the work... Which it isn't.

I feel you but for that same reason I stayed off deception for a whole year, stuck to peddlers pass , picnic walnut , muleshoe , pacebend , reimers ranch, etc. I never felt I was suffering from lack of trails. I still visit those with my wife and have a blast. Different trails for different skills.

  7. Super stoked! Managed to clear the 4 rightside lane church jumps(third one took a few tries) . Getting better at jumping . My goal is to clear the flat creek jump line this year.  Kids there were doing. No handers and landing in manual but still I think I was happier 😂. #fatandfortyteam

I’m going to politely disagree with you. The rising entitlement of the healthcare consumer over the last 10 years is already making being a health care worker very challenging. Can you Imagine with a single payer, this is my right for you to serve me attitude and by the way I’m going to cut your salary in half. We would lose a ton of good nurses and doctors that have brilliant minds and would succeed in other sectors.

I just got charged 3k at senton hosp er for them to read an xray I had taken somehere else, inmobilize my finger  and give me a referral.  Seems totally absurd. I am with chief

Hit it today. Was riding by myself, but there were a bunch of kids at the top and I asked them to call 911 if they heard an old man screaming! Hit the A-line first so I wouldn’t over think it. I had just a little too much speed and landed deep, but somehow managed to stay rubber side down! The b line was very smooth.

How hard of a hit compared to the taller one by the handrail at picnic?

Anyone have a favorite feature at Brushy? Mine has to be the left drop at the beginning of the north end of picnic. It’s not the most difficult drop, but is exciting because you enter pointing down, drop for a few feet and then land going downhill which just shoots you down the trail. Makes me smile every time.

I like both on that section but prefer the other one, you get so much speed it is like a roller coaster
