Yeah, I prefer plastic pallets, but wood pallets are more commonplace, and make better bonfires.

HA! Seriously, while I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to coffee and beer, when it comes to whiskey and wine my sophistication level is pathetic. I load up on Barefoot Cabernet for $4.50 a bottle and am happy I don't know any better (if I am really missing much). As far as Bourbon, can you guys recommend a decent bottle in the $30-35-ish range? I have tried a couple bottles of Treaty Oak Red Handed and am currently working on a bottle of Small Batch 1792 and have been happy with them, but would certainly like to try some recommendations (local preferred but I know that is quite limited).

In 9 years of riding I have had one flat on a ride. I'm either incredibly lucky, or doing something right.

9 years, so you must have started tubeless? Back in the tube days it was a regular occurrence, I don't miss that shit one bit.

  3. OTBS - Been a while since I grilled twice in one day. Bone-in pork chops for a Vietnamese vermicelli noodle bowl for lunch and marinated chicken, corn on the cob and bell peppers for dinner (along with an avocado salad).

  4. If size and weight are not a concern the Morph pumps from Topeak are hard to beat. I rarely carry this anymore (I rarely wear a camelback) but would bring it on backcountry rides (think Colorado) or if I had a new tubeless setup or sketchy ongoing tubeless issue. It basically folds into a mini floor pump and you can pump a tire (repeatedly if necessary) without wearing yourself out too bad. I have even used it to seat new tubeless installs (albeit pretty straightforward rim/tire combinations).

Here's my dude's recent setup.  It's the initial build and I've got some Stan's Crest wheels & Shimano disc brakes to upgrade to.  But right now its setup with a RS SID fork, Suntour 152 cranks with NW ring, SRAM X0 10spd stuff hung on a pretty lightweight Giant XTC extra small frame.  The bike works pretty well for him.  👍

Pond Springs elementary. We live down the street.

Me too. Pretty sure I have seen at least one of you guys out there recently. If I see you I will say hi (from a distance - HA!). Usually on a black/blue Epic.

  7. Since we are already on a publicity campaign for Caddyshack and the like. What is the consensus on the lines people keep riding that drop straight to the BCRT? There is one right at the foot of the dam spillway and another 100 yards or so to the East. I have blocked them numerous times. I think someone may end up rolling into a walker or perhaps more importantly I think the less traffic up there the better. There are definitely some high penalty for error spots and it is NOT beginner friendly at all.

Big loss. They had some good brews, and some good food. Zombie Dragon and Blackjack were two of my favorites. I got slappy at many an Oktoberfest too. The owner is a roadie and has done a lot for cycling in the community. I suspect there will be a lot of other places on my rotation that do not make it to the other side. 😞

Need some photos of trail that has been misused trail for the little trip-fold brochure I'm doing as a hand out to try and help trail users to better understand the consequences of riding wet trails, or messing with trails in some sort of manner that is destructive to official trail building.

    Thanks.

My local-ish brewery went up for sale in February and from what i understand has closed its doors as now late. They had a lot of potential, but poor planning and execution so no surprise there. The market was just too saturated and everyone thought they'd be the next Karbach and was taking that seed money hoping it'd pay off.

Which one are you referring to? And in case anyone isn't aware Karbach = Anheuser Busch
