"Bike trails should be closely monitored for signs of erosion and safety hazards." As if we're the worst offenders when it comes to causing erosion and environmental impact.

...nevermind the impact of horses and diesel dualies pulling giant RV trailers.

Strange that I can see your comments in the recent posts on the right but not in your actual post....

  2. The master plan states 'only beginner level bike trails should be proposed' due to the 'sensitivity of the terrain' 😒. The maps only have trails labelled as pedestrian or equestrian. The Master Plan is from 2010 though.

    See pg. 12

I'm not sure we're talking about the same user, but that seems like a waste of server space. I just want to know if there's the option for me to conveniently avoid the distraction while still enjoying the rest of the site that I find valuable. If other users could benefit from that same ability, then it could be a very useful feature on this site.

Who else could it be. 😉 I don't mean a whole new site, just another section under Mountain Biking. Mountain Biking Discussion, Ride Calls, MTB Destinations, RA's threads, etc.

Is there a way to go beyond the "ignore posts" feature to include a "ignore threads" feature? I can ignore individual posts on a thread from a particular user, but I still see the threads that the ignored user posts. They don't need to be blocked from the site (yet). But I would like to block them from my experience on the site. 🙂

If not, no worries. I just wanted to know if it was a possibility.

How about we create a new section/forum just for this particular user, where he can post his click bait/useless threads all day long and people can chose to visit his little world if desired. He can still reply to other's threads in the 'Mountain Biking Discussions' thread though. A good chunk of his threads only include himself anyway.

    win/win?

There's a big building session today at Brushy. People are meeting at the skate park at 6:00 pm. The plan is to clean up Mulligan, Deception, etc. I'll also be working on my own clean up on Peddlers (West Side of Parmer) starting around 4:30 near the skinny triangular bridge. If enough people come to help me there's a berm that needs to be finished near the rollers. If you can, please come and help in one or both locations.

Thanks. What do you mean by "clean up"?

Thanks for the map.  We followed SN past the retention pond at the end of the cul-de-sac (near Brady Ridge Drive) and we eventually came upon a fence.  It looked like people had been going around the right side of the fence (the side away from the creek), but it wasn't so worn in that we felt comfortable going that way.  We didn't want to accidentally trespass and piss off any landowners.  Looks like we should have kept going past the fence and we would have found some more trail that eventually dumped us near the end of Kati Ln.

Is that legit, accessing it via Kati? I rode that back when SNinja first came about but it seemed that fences/no trespassing signs were getting torn down and then replaced, so I have been avoiding it.

Big news for Peddlers Pass...the Cedar Park City Council just approved a permit to hold a race on it, June 15th this year. Its going to be a time trail format, capped at 400 riders.  There will be pro, cat 1, 2 ,3 and juniors with cash pay outs for the winners. The same people that do a lot of TMBRA events are hosting it, so you know its going to be good. There are some other big things in the works for Peddlers Pass that will be revealed soon. I'm going to need alot of help getting the trail ready for the race, so keep an eye out for work days.

Is the race good news or bad news?

Am i actually typing this? Was Elon right?

Id pick b_rtm_n over the other, as BM knew when to lay low for a while. Additionally, he at least had a history of participating in the MTB community through group rides and trail maintenance.

And frankly, some of what he said needed to be said (with regards to trails and riding anyway).

  10. Some REALLY nice maps can be found here: http://mountainbikemaps.com/

I really like having a paper map, even if I have a GPS map. Using them together is ideal in many cases I think.

I haven't lived out there since I was a kid but have visited several times with my MTB, but I will defer to locals whether it is worth it to leave the area, but it may be worth heading up to the St George area for at least a day. The scenery is definitely at the next level although food and other amenities (like beer) are much more limited (it is Utah after all). I thought the JEM trail system near Hurricane was my favorite. I would skip Gooseberry Mesa as I think there are better options. The Bearclaw Poppy trailhead area is fun if you want some burms and jumps and connects to a bunch of other stuff.

Bootleg is definitely bad ass and will provide as much exposure and chunk as you can handle, although much it is totally doable on an XC rig.

    Have fun!

  11. I checked it out with the intention of sticking to the paved path if necessary. I'm sure all the fun shaded singletrack is toast, but if you are willing to stick to the double track type stuff and the hillier stuff that drains, it is in really good shape (Detention Dam Trail, Ski Hill Flow Trail, Power Line Hill, Tangle Wild Trail, etc.) I didn't even bother looking at Windy, BMX, Mark's, Point 6, etc.
