  1. I'm still offended over how many times RA called hot dogs "shitty food". Sure, the Great Value franks from Walmart are not going to give the same flavor and mouthfeel of, say, a Hebrew National, but don't hate on people because they can't afford a premium frank. A well cooked Great Value weiner on a upgraded bun can be pretty enjoyable with the proper condiments. However, to mack turtle's point, there is only so much lipstick you can put on a pig - unless of course that lipstick is chili and cheese, but at that point, is the hotdog or the chili really the star of the dish?

But we all know they are best on a grill

sure I could do that, but then the fork crown will collide with the down tube if I were to crash or try to spin my bars or whatever. surely the frame would end up getting damaged right there so id rather not

I can pass along the name of a local dude that makes custom bike protection.

IIRC, the reason I heard for removing it completely was because of complications with loading on a tailgate. So, if that's a consideration for you, may be worth it.

(Not so) Funny anecdote about my adventure doing the Excruciation Exam on my tandem.  The week prior, me and my stoker when out to RHR to see if we could even navigate those turns and dips.  About an hour into our ride we pinch flatted the front tire on a root.  Swap out the tube, pump it up even higher pressure....and then about 20 minute later we pinch flat it again.  From there we were out of options and had to walk the (monstrosity) of a bike a few miles out of RHR and back to the truck.  Next week for the EE race I had installed super thick DH tubes and had no problems for our 8hrs of riding that day.

Tubeless? Maybe throw in a Huck Norris or Crush Core?

Yeah, that was because I was cheap. Bent an x9 pretty early in life but straightened it out. Bought a replacement knowing that one more bend and it was gone for good. Carried around the replacement in anticipation. My fear was that if I put the new one on I would bend that one pretty quick too, so I was leaving the old one on as a sacrificial lamb for the next rock strike. I find that I am pretty cheap and any time I finally replace a part I think "man, I can't believe I rode like that for so long" but then I keep doing it. Idiot.

This is my exact same maintenance plan.

Yes, maybe not for competitive mountain biking. But if a man that was pretty good at tennis or golf thought that he could make millions by switching genders I would guess there would be someone that would do it. Not me of course. OK, probably not me. But the motive is not ATXZJ's concern. It's more about the results.

Renee Richards sued and won to be able to compete in tennis as a woman. So there is already court precedence in this matter. Although, "Richards has since expressed ambivalence about her legacy, and came to believe her past as a man provided her with advantages over her competitors, saying "Having lived for the past 30 years, I know if I'd had surgery at the age of 22, and then at 24 went on the tour, no genetic woman in the world would have been able to come close to me. And so I've reconsidered my opinion."

Haha. "Court precedence". Because it's tennis.

  6. Reminds me of my high school days. I had a Chevy Silverado that I fishtailed all over town. My dad had a Mustang GT, 5.0, stick. That car snapped around SOOOO much faster than my big old truck. One misty morning, I took the Mustang to school. We decided to skip out and go get some tacos. I thought it would be good idea to roast the tires on the way out of the parking lot. Next thing I know, we are facing 180 degrees in the other direction on the wrong side of the road, and the teacher of the class I'm skipping is out front of the school just shaking his head.
