Don't get me wrongThis is the beauty of never being cool. Never had to live through the downfall.
I assure you that my cool factor is entirely in my own head.
No one has accused me of being cool except myself

I looked like a fucking clown the other day. I get older and looked like a 85 yr old walking through home depot with black socks pulled half way up my calves and a plaid shirt. I used to be coolIt helps to wear non-matching patterns.

Buy off season. Shorts in the winter are way cheaper.
My shorts last me for years.

That takes you to SN?FYI. On the S. Side of 1431, from Sam Bass ride up near the fence/tree drip line until you get to CR 178 (abandoned). Follow 178 back around to 1431. From there ride the grass to the Apartments. Sidewalk and concrete to trail head.

Weird...and here I'm the one jealous of all the people WITH a job! 😜
Cheers,
CJBTouche' Not jealous of that aspect . But more referring to your recent adventure. I have never done anything like that before

Whatever happened to him? I bought a few things but I have his Ventana . I have been told he had a Burley type thing made to tow behind that bike and had it painted to match .
If that is true it kills me to know there is a matching trailer sitting in dust somewhere around here

I am not to intimidated by most jobs but forks and shocks tend to make me wanna pay. I am certain it is one of those things that if I take the time and go slow it wont be bad
Thanks Mac

respect. more people need to learn to service their own shit. it's a small investment in tools and it's not that hard. glad to hear you stuck it out. now do that 2X a year and you'll save yourself hundreds of dollars and many missed rides by not relying on someone else for that service.
How do you learn the correct way to do this?

I have a lid that I keep rebuying because I like it. IXS Fits great, And very important is ton-o-vents
Ventilation is super important to me with summer weather being a tad warm around here.
These are also very adjustable with that doohickey on the very back and also the dial that tightens and loosens.

just watched Tread, the documentary about a small town Colorado man who decided to exact his revenge on the perceived local conspiracy against him by building an indestructible demolition tank out of a bulldozer and wrecking the town with it. The movie drags a bit as they pound in how deep his paranoia over it was, so I skipped ahead to the climax at some point in the movie. tragic and fascinating. [Netflix]
That dude definitely took a left turn a long the way and seemed to make some poor decisions for sure

Says the boss who cleared near 300 miles in a week?Indeed. It is, however, immensely preferable to the alternative.
What fountain of youth did you find. Kudos

Was the guy a biker or hiker?

Totally different vibe there but a great shop and nice selection.
Reminds me of old skool ATEX.
I have bought a bike or two from them over the years and would recommend them any day. Especially for a kid or guy getting started out

Since I bought a Stache (29+ HT) more than a year ago, I've been riding it almost exclusively. I have so much fun riding this bike that I recently sold my FS 27.5 bike, which I basically stopped riding. As much as I love the Stache, I still think about replacing it with a FS 29er for a couple of reasons. One is that my margin for error when riding up features with bumpy lead up to them (e.g., multiple small ledges leading to a big ledge) are smaller with a HT compared to a FS. Second is that I am starting to feel more beat up during and after rides. To an extent, I think I can address these two issues by improving my skills and fitness, but … NEW BIKE!! Plus, I'm getting old.
I just don't know that I can find a FS 29er that can match the fun of the Stache, though. I think it's a combination of the wide tires, instant response of a HT, and a super short chain stays.
When it comes time to part ways with her, let me know. Ever since Tree Magnet let me take his for a spin I have wanted one.

Does anyone have any pics or video of Quarter/Double Down back in the 2013 time frame? I am curious how much it has changed over the years.
