    We have had always had our kids cook and they both enjoy it and do well. Each week they are required to make us something legit.
    So this weekend we are starting a family food day. We drew straws for a meal and then each of us have to fix a real meal for everyone else. Should be fun and they are already wanting to do this each month or more often.

    COVID-19...Preparation, or hysteria?

    I can’t imagine the challenges of  having school aged kids right now. Are you sending them back  to class in the Fall? 

    I have a 8th grader and the other is going into 11th. I cant imagine the challenge either. What these kids are experiencing in society now and are about to experience is beyond me. I can honestly look them in the eye and tell I dont know and we will get through it together.

    I'm not going," he said on Twitter. "I listen to my fans. I hear all you people out there. I didn't know the numbers were so crazy in Austin. We were hoping it would be a lot better by the Fourth of July. We booked this concert a long time ago. Basically, just want to stay safe. We do take it serious. We were just hoping for a good time but it turned into a big focal point on me and it's not about that. Anyway, happy Fourth of July and by New Years hopefully this corona crap will have a cure!"

    I turned 50 in December, been a to Dr once a couple years ago for the flu. Havent had a checkup since maybe mid 30s.
    Ok.. this is on my radar and I have been avoiding despite family history of bad things happening. I prefer happy ignorance to facing reality.
    Has anyone been to any of the mens health places for checkups? Not for the Low T stuff but they do checkups and all that. I have no Dr and no clue

    Saharan Dust

    I have some family that lived in Saudia Arabia for 20 plus years. They are in Phoenix area now.

    They found the "dust" we had laughable.

    Matter of prospective I reckon.

    Kind of like the Swedish guys on my team complaining about their 78 degree heatwave a few days ago.

    My bad. The man is trustworthy. I'm sure he has your best interests in mind.
    I know the man does not have my best interests in mind.

    However, isnt more of the medical and scientific community that are suggesting the masks? Not just here but across the world.

    Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday called the rising rate of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations “unacceptable,” but said he has no plans to shut down the state again.

    Instead, the governor renewed his call on Texans to do their part to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

    “We must find ways to return to our daily routines as well as finding ways to coexist with COVID-19,” Abbott said in a news conference. “Closing down Texas again will always be the last option.”

     

    Back to the Office?

    My Company (Local HQ has 200+ people and another 1k+ in global offices)  had opened May 11 but strictly only those who wanted. The CEO and the CFO showed up that day here in Austin,, 5 others showed up. 2 guys left when they were told there was no coffee or snacks available.  Since then the average is less than 10 people per day in the Austin office. The demographics of those folks are young and single people BTW , except the CEO and CFO. 

    When I do go in , It is @ night or maybe the weekend. When they do open for earnest someday ( no immediate plan) The desks will be arraigned different and teams will be split , meaning if you choose to come in, then you will be assigned a day you can do so. 

    I polled some friends in various tech roles. One guy in a downtown office told me their company did good WFH and so they let their lease lapse. Another friend of mine said their lease was up in July and it is likely going to not be renewed and they will do a full transition to WFH

    Neighbors of mine who work around the Domain were told not to return to work until January. Wife who works for UT is home for the unknown future. My dogs are happy.
