It's pretty interesting watching movies of a certain rating from different eras.

We have learned the hard awkward way watching movies with my kids lately that 80\90s R movies or even PG movies are way more R than movies today. I also seem to have forgotten how raunchy some of my favorite or memorable movies are. I cant believe my parents let us watch what we watched.

  2. I am that uber rare guy who cannot stand dropper posts  (Useless Crutches) I am in the minority for sure.

That said I am a fan of PNW Components. They announced today a new program  to sell refurbished droppers.

Worth checking out if so inclined , good to see a company keeping their products from the trash pile

  3. To us, we see a log that is laying across a trail,, or a "pile" of random rocks between trees and we ride it and leave it.

Now if my mom was walking that same trail sees it as a hazard. She might move it

If the features looked more legit, like what has been done at Walnut instead of looking like a random log or like my kid stacked rocks then maybe the hikers wouldnt move that stuff

    • How Content Approval & Moderation Works

    •

Trailforks is built as a tool for trail associations, so we try to give control to local associations over the content in their region. This is different from other sites that try and centralize control & moderation. We believe local groups know best not some central authority. Locals know their trails and what should be public, they know the corner cases and different regions have different policy concerning "unsanctioned" trails. So we provide the tools to let each region decide how their content should be represented.

    How Moderation & Control works

There are several different ways trails & other content is approved & moderated. Our preferred method is assigning users from a local trail association with moderator permissions over the content in their region. So if a new trail is added in your region, this user would be notified and make the decision to approve, deny or modify it. This takes time to build up this database of local admins, we vet each application for region admin and give preference to directors from trail associations. But also give control to other groups or local users if its ok with the local association or no one steps up.

If a region does not have any local admins, then the content sits in the global approval queue. This is where the power of crowd sourcing comes in. Users can check this pending content and vote to confirm or reject it. If an item gets enough votes in either direction then it is added or rejected. Each user on Trailforks has a "trust score", which is earned by adding confirmed content to the site over time. Users with higher trust score get more weight when they vote to confirm or reject content.

The final way content is moderated is by the Trailforks staff, we periodically go through the global content queue and confirm or reject content ourselves. If we see the content resides in a region where their are local admins setup, we will leave that content for at least 1 week giving the local admins time to review it themselves.

Have run the Minion SS on the back which is similar to the RR and love them. Super fast and fun to slide around. Semi slicks also grip on climbs better than you'd think. Aggressor is interesting, only hear really good reviews of them.

I was curious about the Minion SS , Seems like the Rock Razor is pretty popular now and I am not dropping $90 on that

I'd take them all from you, but I don't see myself getting up to your neck of the woods anytime soon.

If you do, I promise I am in better shape to ride better this time..

I never go south of the river but lets see, or I can hold em

  7. Thanks for the update.

How did it handle in the tight twisty stuff with the drops?

I rode 1/4 to Rim to YMCA and back then over to PP.

Last night rode SN and Church down to Gumdrop and then to Gnargasm then to PP and then back.

Tight and twisty was fine. Drops like Gumdrop made me nervous but that's due to the tires, which I am replacing on Wed. I actually liked this setup better than with flat and wide bars.

But yes the trails were fine.

  8. Let me know what you end up doing with it.

I had a fear of commitment and stuck with flat bars and bar ends.

    @ St.Bernardo

I did 3 rides this past weekend on this new setup. I had this frame since 11/2015 . So it is very different now that I changed. I'm very happy and think it was a good move. I did the 60MM stem and gravel specific wide bars from PNW. New calipers , TRP Spyre SLC. And TRP RRL levers. The levers are brake only since the drivetrain is SS. New rubber is coming this week. But yea.. she is alot of fun to ride and not too much coin to swap. I can also remove the calipers and cockpit and swap back to flat bars and my Mt brakes if I so choose.

  9. I saw you coming out of Dave's Ditch and around the trail this morning.  Noticed you didn't have water and just assumed you were a badass who can ride a gravel bike on Brushy Creek trails without any water.
Fine line between bad ass and dumb ass. I skew toward dumb ass.
