MTBR added an article about Lubes yesterday -- mostly just lists a bunch of various products really,, typical MTBR stuff , but a overview of options

Hmm, this brings up an interesting question. Is "BS" one word?
Technically, it is 2 letters, yet the long form of this abbreviation can be written acceptably as just 1 word.
I didnt think it was going to be you who called me on that

How are Dirt Component hubs in comparison to other options?
Prices seem right and I dont think I have heard anything negative about their products in general?

Rant... There's a guy I've encountered a few times around Picnic that never has his dog on a leash. It always seems to be around lunch time during the week. I've asked him nicely a couple times to use a leash in such a high traffic area but he just ignores me.
Saw him again this morning standing on the bridge by the train overpass with the dog off leash wandering on the bridge. I still had my go pro running from a Picnic run. Normally I would keep my distance and skip the little side path by the bridge but I was irritated so I buzzed behind him off the bridge. Couldn't help myself. If you see him, ask him to put his damn dog on a leash.
This guy has been around for a long time, He is very nice, When on the trail he yields all the time. His dog is well trained and gets out of the way. Ive had nothing but good encounters with him. Looking at that it seems like a dick move on you. NO reason for that at all. Why not just slow down and go wide to the left? his dog wasnt in your way , he wasnt in your way.
You are on a populated , heavily used path , learn to share

Man, thanks for making me go down this rabbit hole now.

well played Chuck, I was wondering about the repetitiveness but figured it was magic carpentry tricks.
How pissed would FB be if he went through getting a sitter and hauled ass over there and it wasnt there?
That is funny.

Why do I get the feeling he is grabbing the baby and hauling ass over there with a crow bar and hammer ready to tear this up?

I was getting a couple of slips per ride for about a month. I assumed there was a bad spot on my free hub. Then I was out at Pace Bend on a ride and it stripped almost completely in about 10 minutes. I had a big slip and turned around to head back. Within minutes, pedaling on flat ground, I was at the point where my feet were spinning like I dropped a chain.
Just about every hub manufacturer has an alloy and a steel free hub. Don't cheap out, always replace with steel. It is a few bucks more but well worth it. The other issue with alloy is the bite marks from the cassette. You won't find that with steel.
Thanks,, I pulled and cleaned the cog on my SS about two weeks ago and noticed slight gouging. Ill look into this ,

Serious question-- When it begins to look like that (mine is not that bad but noticeable) how much time is left? Whats the consequences of not replacing right away?

Question sentStand, feather board, push stick, and cross cut sled. The sled was made for a different saw but you can change the slides out.
I will put this on the curb today unless someone here wants it and asks me to hold it. Could also deliver if needed if you lack a truck.
I don’t know why the picture is flipped.

Got my Ventana setup with the drops. New stem and brakes and levers. I left her 32x17. Ordered new Ikons but they arent in yet.
Thanks for the suggestions and education.
Took her out this AM early and did my usual at Brushy around sunrise ride. Iwas so excited I forgot my pack in the fridge but rode anyways. Called it at 9.x miles since my saddle came loose and I didnt have my tool with me.
Drops are so different and coupled with a 17t cog made little punchy climbs I normally dont think about into walkers.
She is gonna keep being a fun ride.
