The topless mentions has jogged my memory.
I was at Brushy with my son who was maybe 10-11 at the time. And you know how there are always photographers out taking pics? There was a couple out by the Frisbee golf area and she was super crazy pregnant, very prego. But she was also topless.
I just told my son,, "Be cool man,, dont stare, dont laugh, be cool"
He thought it was gross

I have seen a ringtail at BC one night a few yrs ago. That was pretty cool.
Last summer I was stopped by some dude wearing fulling on DH kit, Full face, Chest pads, Arms , Legs, Full length pants and long sleeve jersey , he had to take his mouth guard out to speak to me. He wanted to know if he can ride an e-bike on there.
We were on Peddlers Pass . I wondered if he knew knew something I didnt know about some hidden features

As long as there's a line around this crazy drop, I'm good. 😄 I haven't been to Brushy in a few months now, which makes me sad (broke the frame on my Epic, it's out of warranty of course, and I don't have a new mountain bike yet, really need one, and sucks that another long wave of rain just started).

A lot of deals going on now

Mixed emotions on this. On one hand, they need to survive so they're finding new avenues of making money. On the other, if every shop out there went and bought up these basic supplies and marked them up, there wouldn't be any in the grocery stores for people to buy.
I seriously doubt this will dent the inventory of HEB. I think its pretty cool

I've been watching the magnitude of kids riding bikes by the front of my house over the past couple of days. One day last week I saw what appeared to be a sister-brother combo racing on opposite sidewalks. The sister was on the sidewalk on my side and I was watching in amusement as she kept glancing over to the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street to gauge where her brother was. As they zipped past pedaling furiously in competition with one another, I turned away with a smile thinking back to all the crazy stuff I did as a kid. Within a second or two though I heard this god awful "clank" and turned around to see she had run straight into the aluminum light pole a couple houses past mine. Luckily she was wearing a helmet, although I'm pretty sure she still got her bell rung pretty good.
So she was seeing lights?

Thanks for the info guys. I was there from about 11-1. More people than I would have liked but doable. May try to go much earlier (next time it is dry anyway).
I hope that rain holds off

Few yrs back before I learned the value of backup bikes .. I broke a frame and was without a bike. A buddy of mine here in my hood lent me a old Kona SS MB with drop bars to use while I waited for a new frame. I just remember how much fun that was. I am seriously tempted to put drop bars on my Ventana SS.

It is still quite steep though. It will not be quite the fun Chamois Hagar would induce.
As much as I dig the CH, I just can't see me paying that much for a carbon gravel/touring bike, when I don't even like the concept that much. I was thinking...you could go much cheaper with a custom steel frame built to the CH's geo, but maybe add some track-ends for more fun options, or even shorten the CS. You could even add a Lauf gravel fork and stay way under the CH price.
How would a ride the CH do on trails like Brushy?
I think that it would be fun on most all of it except DD

How is Brushy looking mid day (or mornings) during the week? No way I am going in the afternoon/evening, but I would like to make it out there soon.
Between me and you and the fencepost,, Mornings are great. I'd say for the real riders , early before 10. And then dusk to dark with lights.

Be there for sunrise then.
