  1. I have  12 yr old and a 15 yr old kids.   Just me and my daily talking and all , it has surprised me a lot when they call me out on things and tell me stuff is offensive and I sound like a racist cracker

When they explain to me something is offensive I am surprised.   I have been learning at my ripe ol age that yea-- it doesnt matter if I think it is offensive or not, maybe it wasnt back in the 70s or 80s but time has changed and so should I

    Maybe consider the others feelings

Figured I'd post a quick update on there...

Just ventured out and checked out 1/4 Notch and Picnic to use barometers for other trails. Still very tacky even in exposed areas with muddy sections. I didn't go far on either trail and was having plenty of dirt pickup on my tires.

I imagine with the temps today that 1/4 Notch and other rocky composition trails will be g2g or close to g2g later in the afternoon. I would be surprised if trails aren't g2g tomorrow morning, but personally I'd recommend holding off today to minimize trail erosion/damage.

I do plan to go out again after work today to see how things are progressing. If anything changes I'll let you all know.

Im happy you live where you do -- Thanks for the updates

  3. The shop is well known and liked. I think my initial posting was not so much to bad mouth the shop itself but to maybe get someone saying it was  a legit cost.

The same shop has treated me well over time and has gone out of their way previously, the extra mile when it wasnt needed and the costs were much more affordable.

I will say that after my previous posts , someone who is in the know at the shop did reach out to me. The guy apologized and offered an explanation.

He did so on his own off the record. That meant a lot to me and yeah I am not  happy about the over all cost -- My wife reminded me to take it in perspective.

Why bitch about a high bill for something that gives me such relief and pleasure and then not thinking about dropping hundreds on a dinner out.

  4. My wife's CF Box is doing videos and Zoom meetings to workout.

I've never done that stuff before so doing so with her has been humbling.

Also my kids teams are doing online workouts.

I only ride so this is kicking my ass. I need it though.

Edit.... My legs feel like knives are twisting in them. #humbled

  5. Can definitely confirm trails are completely muddy right now.  Hopefully it was the same four teenagers I saw while walking the trail.  Man, they definitely did some damage out there today.  So frustrating.

Maybe they just returned from the beach for spring break?

  6. Maybe new bikes can be financed for the ridiculous 84 something months and deferred 120 day 1st payment @ 0% apr.
I keep hearing these ads this weekend for new cars and thought if only I can snag that new Evil Chamois Hagar for that deal... hmmm.
Cash is king for me though.

  7. Did they inform you of all this work and the cost before starting? Seems like a bad business practice. I worked in several shops over the years and never did that to anyone.
No.. just that the rear would obviously be bled since it was the caliper being replaced. I was told this AM the front needed bled..I took their word.
I asked him the damage and he said $50 for front and read bleed. Under the idea of supporting local I said fine.
Went back this afternoon and told it was the $87. He said he forgot to mention they replaced pads.

  8. Yea..picked up the bike this afternoon. Feel violated kind of. $87 for a bleed on front and rear. They tossed the "old pads" that had less than 15 miles on them and replaced with new.
Took it in for warranty replacement on rear caliper.
    So that total hurts
I guess it will be like having new brakes but hurts knowing I could of should of done this myself.

  9. They have had it about 2 weeks now. I dont honestly recall how the front felt. Owell. Since it was in for warranty work and the back was being bleed I told them to do the front.
Then I asked the price for the bleed. Damn. I will do it myself next time. Thank You
