Seems that it's just a matter of time before something really bad happens at Rampage given the feats being exhibited there.

PAUL BASAGOITIA ,, That was and is pretty bad. I think the documentary is hitting HBO soon if not already

  2. For my helmet light i once used the battery attached to my helmet. Didnt like the weight. So I have the option to use a longer wire. Just run that under my jersey to the battery that is placed in my waist pack.
The light on my bars I have running to a battery that I put into a old cut in half water bottle that is in the water bottle cage.

  3. Holy shit, if you haven't ridden the last couple of days, you need more medication. last night was amazing weather and dirt.
I do want to apologize to whoever the rider was last night that I almost fell into on Rim and possibly knocked down the hill.
I'm and old man and I fall over often.
    GET YER ASS OUT THERE!
On my way. Lights charged. Aleve taken. Tires aired up. Kids are locked in the basement

  4. https://communityimpact.com/austin/leander-cedar-park/city-county/2018/05/10/alamo-drafthouse-planned-to-come-to-cedar-park-in-presidio-development/You aren't wrong. A lot of what's there will have buildings sitting on that area pretty soon anyways. Minus the Church Stuff.

So yea trails are there but why put the huge effort into it when it's going away. Still a good amount of trails that's are not easy to spy and not easy to find.

  5. That's a good start. I can say there is 3 seperate ways to the jump areas. The shortest is from Red Horn to the jumps in 1.5 miles for example. You can make it want you want and tie in the SN trail . The new trails and if you are especially observant you can add the Ol Skool SN trail. It is not impossible to do 10 plus miles and never get that far from Red Horn /Peddlers. It seems like you can get lost but not really. Just give yourself enough daylight to explore.

  6. Anyone know the reason why bikes aren't allowed at the skate park? Most skate parks don't seem to ban bikes. Curious if it was always this way at Brushy Creek or was there an incident that caused this rule? I've rode around it on an early weekday morning when no one was around and it was a ton of fun. Now that I have a dirt jumper I'm more interested in riding skate parks as well.
So the park in PVille was purpose built for bikes and boards. It is a lot larger and way more spread out.
I was told it was due to the safety issues because it is a small area meant for skate boards and not designed to have bikes and boards

  7. So the new area off SN .. that has no legit name so I'm gonna call it Gilligans Playground cuz the random abandoned drug boat there... has had sightings of a creature. It is said to be half coyote and half Red Wolf. There are 2 that run that area. Legit witnesses have seen this beast. Judging by the extraordinary large fur burgers on the trails and jeep roads .. something is there.

I saw a road runner Friday afternoon on 1/4 notch so that was a cool thing to see
So a road runner and coyote makes sense in that area.

  8. I got a Dakine as well.  I hated the bladder.  super-thin material, and I couldn't get the bite valve to work comfortably.  swapped out the bladder for a Camelbak one of about the same size.  I apparently also hate the new Camelbak bite valves, but fortunately had an extra old school one laying around.  Frankenbladder.
my only remaining complaint is condensation if I put ice in it.  don't have that problem with my Blowfish backpack.  but I guess if I'm just doing 'hot laps', I don't need ice water.   I'll just get one of my groupies on the tour bus to fix me a frosty beverage between laps.
Curious why a thin bladder is an issue?
Yea the valve is same as Ospreys and at first it was odd compared to CB style.

  9. I had the place to myself today, saw one other person on Peddlers.
Hell's yea man. I wasn't working all summer and enjoyed the place alone in the AM every day. I am starting a new gig Monday and will miss my retirement. Alot of days saw no one.
Now back to the evenings and secret times I know none of you fools go ride
