I hadn't even thought about that this year, until this reminder. I'm not sure I even saw any posts on FB from ARR, but probably just missed it. Hope they have a great turnout though.

Oh, then there was that thing that looked like a very pale skinned child in an old fashioned night gown that ran on all fours and make pig/groaning/creepy giggling sounds.

I have always had this fear that I will come around a turn and there would be some pale , barefooted kid with red eyes and bloody fingers, just staring at me. Or even worse the twins from the Shining.

I have never ridden WC at night,, just Brushy the last couple years, which is amazing

3. I came home today all anxious to ride. Grabbed my junk , grabbed my bike and the bars didn’t budge. Frozen. With all the water lately and several washes apparently my lower bearing of the headset rusted or corroded just enough to seize up.

I pulled it all apart and in the picture is the lower bearing. A Cane Creek ZS44.

The top bearing is smooth like jazzy butter on a baby’s ass.

The bottom bearing feels like sand as I move it.

Rough and nothing like the top. Looking at the edges of the blue seal it does look wet and rusty in there.

Do I replace that? Is it a serviceable part? I assume I can replace just that lower bearing and not the whole headset.

4. Something had to be done. Still need to put a shelf or 2 on the inside but it's a major improvement as it is. Was wasting too much time grabbing stuff out of my box. Now I can keep all the essentials on the bench not in a pile.

What happened to the glassware?

What does the bike setup process look like once it arrives to my door?
If I buy online, can I assemble myself with only basic tools and basic knowledge
or do I buy online and then take it into a shop for a tuning?

Ive gone through Art's and Jensen before. Both had great setup instructions, didnt need them but they were good.  If you have the basic tools one needs anyway you can easily do.  Or post up and ask for a hand. Most guys are pretty nice and would be willing to help if asked nicely.

6. I haven't heard from Chief yet, or anybody else for that matter. If you want to ride at 7:30, I can be there then, but I think it might still be dark. I can't even drive a car in the dark let alone a mountain bike! Kobra Kai MTB Guy what time can you make it, assuming you are still interested?
Lets say 8AM same place ?

7. That's a great question given that we haven't had it in a few weeks. I can't see starting any earlier than 8am, at least not until the time changes. I'd be OK myself with starting even later - 8:30 or 9 - but let's hear from Chief and Cafeend on their preferences. Welcome input from others as well though who are considering joining the ride. I plan to go out later this afternoon and check the trails. Deception, Picnic, and Rim were in great shape Tue afternoon, and it looks like we got less than a tenth of an inch yesterday. I'll post an update in the Ride Calls forum once I've checked the trail status.
Ill be there by 7:30 and ride. Then meet you guys ? You said 830? You are requiring me to do math my friend.

8. Just finished riding bits a pieces of it.
My report is:
*snow white: ok
*gnargasm : ok but slick rocks morning maybe just morning dew
*caddyshack : same as above
*Peddlers pass: east side ok with few soft spots in bottoms of berms.
West needs a lot more time and little tweaks on drainage.
*Deception: good with occasional bad spots and slick rocks
*Snail : will be ok
