A buddy and I did a weekend tour from S.Austin to San Marcos (Day 1- 35-ish miles). San Marcos to Wimberly (Day 2- 26-ish miles). Wimberly back to S.Austin (Day 3-38-ish miles).

Stayed at a b&b in San Marcos, walking distance from downtown. Stayed at cabins in Wimbery, riding distance from downtown (<0.5-mile).

Rigid 29'er, 2.2" tires, disk brakes, wide bar.  Most of the time, that's how I roll.

Our native ancestors road this without a dropper post.  HTFU.

Talk to AJ at The Peddler.  He had a "Nut Cracker" ride planned for last December.  Ride was to include Brushy/Behrens/Wilco/Ninja and was working out someway to connect Crystal Falls. 

I think the weather crapped out and it was never rescheduled.

I'm still way slower than you, but would be happy to show you around when it dries.

Can also show you how to connect  Brushy to Behrens to Wilco.

Should be able to.  Decision would have to be made by the trail Knomes.

I've had good luck with the WTB Nanos and run the 2.1" version. Fast rolling and durable sidewalls.

Made it 55 miles today.  Trail to trail connected by road.

Temps were in the 60s for most of the ride.  High was about 76.

Only issue was the head wind for the last 14-miles
