Let us know when you're planning to be back in CenTex - we're trying to schedule our annual Lake Georgetown punishment lap. 🤣

Dude, that was indeed an asshander for sure. I might be down around April and would be up for it. Thankfully riding a mile above sea level for a year has helped the fitness for the low country a bit. That is until the humidity kicks in🤣

Apple messaged me this morning - my Trailforks annual subscription was set to increase 50% from $36 to $54. Seems like they are now a part of Outside+, who keep jacking up the prices on everything they buy. Anyway, thought I'd let you all know. I cancelled mine for now.

I did the same. Used MTB project app yesterday in AZ. It was good enough to get me back on the trail I wanted.

All that trailforks data was crowdsourced from users and as usual, big business gets involved ruins something great.

I was going to swing by his winery while I was in the area as I'm a sommelier in my non-mtb life. I also heard his wife's general store is pretty cool. I hadn't looked into the logistics yet, but good to hear it isn't too far.

    Cool!

It's such a rad little town. Lots of MJK options there. Next to Bisbee, Jerome is one of our favorite AZ stops. The Jerome Grand hotel is supposed to be super haunted too.

Currently in southern Arizona for the next 10 days and gonna hit up the southern wine country while here.

Lastly, glad to see you're still alive 😎

Finally replaced my broken mountain bike yesterday.

    Revel Rascal bought at Velorangutan.

A week ago I made a joke to the wife about a brand new car (she shot it down). So then I joked about a brand new bike (and I was very specific).

I didn't think she would actually order a bike for me.

I went into Velo to check on Rascals. They said they have to check on inventory and get back to me.

They connected the dots and realized my wife had just ordered a bike. They tried to help make it a surprise. They were trying to go out of their way on this Christmas surprise.

This shop is a good find.

Congratulations man! After riding @Chief bike, the rascal was on the top of a very short list when I lived in Austin. The Canfield suspension platform works so well out there.

I haven't been riding much at the far reaches of WC over the last year, sticking closer to the trails near the Lincolnshire entrance.

Late yesterday afternoon, I did Inner and Outer Log Loops and headed over to the BMX Loop.  First, I got semi-lost on the way over, ending up somewhere in a tangle of social trails at the end of Severe Consequences.

When I got close to the entry trail to BMX Loop, I noticed a guy approaching on a bike with squeaky rim brakes and a nice front basket, blasting music.  He dismounted and started walking his bike up the trail, so gave him a few minutes lead. Started up the trail, smelled cigarette smoke, and Rudolph Reindeer on an e-bike, there is an established homeless camp right there on a trail.  Kept riding on what I think is an added part to the trail, which loops around just a few feet from the back of that same camp.  Gack.  There is also an abandoned camp with trash. Just overall creepy.

Becoming so typical for Austin. Sorry

Let's vow not to support them monetarily.  Maybe it will be so bad they'll drop it like a hot potato and RedBull will pick it up again.

There's going to be a large loss in viewership next season for sure. They'll bundle it with all the other crappy sports stuff so it will buried during the shareholder meetings. Agree that eventually it wont make sense economically for them to carry on hosting and broadcasting the events. My fear is what damage will be done by then.

From what I understand one big production movie broke even this year. One. Big media is dead, and I can't wait for the funeral.
