On Tuesday I did the Drama Drop on Snail for the first time....on accident.  I hadn't ridden Snail in over a month and just forgot which side the ramp was on.  Rolled up to it slowly, but not slow enough to stop.  Realized the ramp was on the left as I started going over the edge.  Somehow i just rolled down and stayed rubber side down.

On the bright side, I'm not as scared of the drop as I used to be!

Do you mean the new line on the left side of snail with an 8 foot drop and a steep ramp on the left side of it?

This is going to be my comment on Facebook

"@Go Round Rock, the City of Cedar Park thanks you for promoting amenities in their City, it's very neighborly of you 😆. These "Epic Bike Trails" and the wood feature in the picture are miles outside of Round Rock 😆

Hopefully it prompts them to take it down.

This feature has been a sh!t show for as long as I've been riding brushy. You never know what kind of condition it's in and heading E-W you can't see what the other side looks like until you're going over it. Many times I've gotten onto it only to find out there's a hole to catch your wheel from missing rocks or like @HoneyBadger everything is loose and sends you OTB. I like the feature I just wish there was a way to keep it intact so it's not a surprise every time you approach it. I don't think it's ever been the same twice when I ride it.

I'm going to construction glue it in place.

I did rebuild it at that time, and it was well engineered (I test and retest by both riding and jumping around on it to make sure nothing will move), but that was a couple of weeks ago and it has changed several times since. I went over it this morning and it was a bit scattered, I didn't go back to mess with it this time though.

I was riding it W to E, how about you?

Back on topic... WTF is this nonsense? We stopped blocking the B-line, yet that's not enough? My irritation has been renewed; every time I have to replace these rocks, I'm going to add more and build it bigger...

In other news. I surprised a runner in a spot where we couldn't see each other until it was too late. I had just come out of a descent and had started a short climb with some momentum, and he was coming down the hill around a bend; when he saw me he jumped, waving his hands with an animated look on his face, like a little girl that had seen a big spider... I laughed so hard I almost lost my balance...

    Then I got a flat.

To the person (that was probably just trying to help out) that put ths feature back together...please check it before leaving or if your not an experienced trail builder just leave it others that know what they're doing. Soon as I put my front wheel on this feature today it completely collapsed and sent me OTB.  After laying on the ground for several minutes i fixed it as best i could considering i jacked up my hand. (P.s. not saying it was gotdurt)

I have a bag of concrete to donate to the effort of restoration

I say we go even bigger. Or maybe longer. Make it more of a feature than a pile of rocks. But I'd be ok with just restoration as well

Yes to making it bigger since there is a b-line

    @First-Blood

What's the "vision" with this new feature? I was kinda disappointed to see the natural line underneath go away, but I know you guys have something in mind... Maybe somethin g to do with when the "new jump line into this line gets built and it becomes faster"?

I rode by you as well. I was the guy on the blue FS bike and was wearing the 2019 EB jersey. Sorry for riding on the dirt you were working on! Also, you ruined my strava PR by forcing me to slow down. 😝

That's what they all say. I woulda had my PR but...

@HoneyBadger Were you out working on Peddler's yesterday?   I saw you while I was on the loop, but had a good time working.  I rode over about ten minutes after that but you/someone had already left.  I was going to try and help out a bit.    Thanks for all you do out there.  Peddler's Pass sure is fun to ride.

That was me, if it was a long righthand berm on the West side of Parmer around 5:30pm. If it wasn't, some assholes doing a no no.

Of course then there are the people that hear me say, "Coming on your left!" and then they move left to block me. Oh well, at least they tried.

I've stopped yelling "on your left" because most people move to the left. You'll be past them before they can react.

  11. It marked me as Peddler's Pass 4.0 for today's ride. It also says my time was 18:45 although when I entered the path it was 11:29:00 and when I exited it was 11:48:30 so that's 19m30s by my count. Unless math has changed recently. I don't share anything publicly, just with friends, so none of mine get on the leader boards. Probably a good thing as I would probably be sad when I saw the results!
All the Strava times on Peddlers pass are about a minute faster than reality.
