  1. Seeing lots of activity from people I know over in MMSP. I've never been over there and I've got the FOMO. I know how to get to the railroad bridge and I know I go north along that and take a turn east somewhere. Other than that I'm blind. The only experience I have with MMSP is the disk golf course and the RC field. Seems like the trails are mostly south of that on the creek?

  2. Yeah I went full commit and tried to launch up the rock but ended up sending my head straight into the branch. I think my visor was down for the late day sun and I just forgot it was there. At least my spine was aligned and I didn't torque anything but I heard the helmet give up its ghost and I went straight home as a precaution. Rode all of 10 minutes that day.

There's a "ramp" of boulders just south of Bowie HS and the Bowie Stonewall segment down here that are good for that.

I'm still a fat 0 on that last stonewall obstacle. I was doing a lot of attempts until I cracked my helmet on that low branch. I might have to leave that box un-ticked permanently.

  4. What does The Tip's search history look like after finding that photo? What other wonders did that search return?

Hello MrTheCatLady, I'm just here to comment on photos of naked dudes. I have no sage advice for you on falling theory other than I feel like I fall an average amount for the risks I'm willing to take. I do pass on features I think I have the skill for but have higher penalties for failure. I feel lucky to have not broken any important pieces when I do fall. Just a few stitches, some sprains, and rib injuries over the last few years. I too have done the splits in road cleats on a wet road before.

  5. Agree, lots of variables. Seated or attack position, bar sweep, level of terrain, # of balls... I can say I've messed with my brake position in the last year to get more comfortable and I have mine pointed pretty far down on my XC hardtail and not as much on the trail bike.

@Kobra Kai MTB Guy Sorry to hear about the tendinitis and missing rides.

Also strange that the most popular option, going north on Mopac, is not open. But as a biker that is no concern to us.

This opened up last week. Huge news for the neighborhood but yeah bikes don't care. It looks like they are close to having all the signs and sidewalks done. I've ridden across it a few times now on the wrong side of the cones to stay separate from the cars. 👍

My main wiring is all copper.  But the wiring from the main panel to the distribution panel is aluminum

Yup my understanding is that this is normal but I'm not an electrician. I would mostly be cautious about older houses with full aluminum wiring and any breaker panels made by Federal Pacific.

  8. That brings up a good question: When riding through fire and hot coals are you guys weighting your front wheel or back wheel? I just don't feel like I am getting traction cornering through a burning forest.

  9. Been watching a lot of baseball. I don't like the cardboard fans. The noise doesn't bother me much. I can't help but wonder who has the job of controlling the fan noise. And how do you get that job. Is it the organist? The TV production staff? I would think it's from the stadium staff for the home team. I have so many questions.

Cant find the article now but somebody bought like a whole section of those virtual fan cardboard cutout things. You could have some fun with that.

  10. Ok that makes sense. I heard the ATV driving around but never saw it. The wife and kids heard it from our backyard and asked me what was going on when I got back from my ride.

That last corner corner is treacherous. It's one of the few places you need to slow down. Gravel from the parking lot runs off and builds up in that turn and you never know who will be on the path past the curve. People exiting from the far right without notice other people entering from the parking lot. Sketch corner for sure.
