Helmets cool fine on flats and downhill sure but uphill with a slight tailwind. Even the modern ones I want to yeet when it's over 90 and I've got no wind.

Helmets have been required for a while now. Not sure when exactly late 90's early 00's IDK. I remember a few deaths in the tour and maybe other classics that made everyone rethink the rules.

ATX bike lot is probably your best bet with easy trails all around that area. We start at the trails behind the veloway. Park across from the wildflower center and there is a trail right at the end of the road. Mostly mellow stuff all along the creek and easy access to the VCT. Dick Nichols Park is another option for parking. Paved 2 mile loop, an inner dirt loop that is very mellow and more VCT connections to stuff north south and more trails to the west.

Took apart my first BB this weekend. I could see the press fit cups had gaps between the frame and there was some creaking going on. Took apart all the threaded pieces pressed the cups back flush cleaned greased and reassembled. I can't tell that I did any damage so far. The beater bike lives another day.

I'm sitting over here not working now playing guess the trail.

I've got one of those pop up deals. It has tried to run away at least half the times I have used it. What I end up doing is tying a cooler to one of the legs. It's not going anywhere without taking all the beer with it. I swear one time it got close though. Could have been Christmas for someone wherever the wind gave out.

Strava comments are saying it should be mostly good with some wet spots today. Haven't been able out to check personally but I'm also curious. We got a lot of rain the other day.

I feel personally attacked. And that's probably fair.

Not something strange I witnessed but accidentally participated in. I ordered the weekly "I'm not cooking tonight" and when the guy was handing over the pizzas I grabbed too far up the box and must have snagged some of his glove. I didn't notice until I had pulled a bit and it made a loud snap like you never want to hear over your shoulder at the Dr's office. Anyway because I'm awkward AF I said "almost got ya" and shut the door. That was a fun day.

+1 for Hope brakes. Best brakes I ever had were the X2s on my Pivot. I ended up acquiring more bikes with Shimano mineral oil brakes so I've unified on that platform. If I get rid of one or two bikes I'd consider upgrading the fleet back to hope tech.
