  1. Yep... I think you and I both fooling have dropped Cru on our wife's comfort REI bikes, LOL. I rode all of Picnic including Basket, Big Ravine, Beer, and both Upper Picnic drops on my wife's teal comfort bike with 80mm fork. Novara Flirt FTW...look at that "passive dropper post" I did have to replace her seat and pedals.
  2. I feel you. Also, I think most people do simple roll down Basket. I don't see many people drop it.
  3. Cody's youngster hitting it should give you confidence.
  4. I don't bat and eye on Mulligan and even launch it as far as possible, same with SB EtW. Jammer is a goodamn mindf@ck most days. WtoE Grotto, just fugetaboutit... Going from a 29er HT to a 27.5 squish has taking my percentage on EBD waaaaay down 😞 Seems like the Cradle gets in most peoples head...it's so simple both directions if you just commit and don't pedal strike (maybe close your eyes). Yep, I've had those rides that I clear all the tough stuff and then something stupid trips me up cause I'm slippin' or too heavy on the front.
  5. The video tour with feature names I have on youtube was a legit East to West no dab, thankfully, Brett riding with me is my witness. No dabbing E to W one way use to be relatively common...but since EBD and Jammer have gotten significantly more difficult it's not at all common for me now. Forget about W to E, the Grotto and even SpongeBob give me utter fits these days.
  6. Is fitness a factor or technical skill...or perhaps a lot of both. I find that fitness is a huge factor in dealing with the constant battery that DD throws at you. Not to say that DD doesn't pose significant technical challenge even for the fittest, but when I am less than fit I fumble on many features that I can easily clear. When I am really fit I have no dabbed 1/4 and DD (out and back) literally on TWO occasions, that's having been involved in designing/buildings and having ridden it probably over 1000 times. Like Casey says, don't over think it and just ride.
  7. Brian! How the hell are you!? Yea, RR held an open house a couple year back, invited ARR/BCB. They are well aware of the MTB trail there and they SAID they plan to engage the MTB community to further develop, but we've heard that before... https://www.roundrocktexas.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Behrens-Ranch-Public-Input-Summary-Board.pdf Also RR plans to have the park at 1431 and Sam Bass (yes, that's a park) Mayfield Park developed into an "adventure park" with a focus on outdoor adventure with archery, kayak/canoe, challenge(obstacle) course, and trails.
  8. Shhhh...no one needs to snoop on the global heatmap. NO!!!! I love it, but again it's cheating. In 1992 you had to EXPLORE, you had to FIND, you have to sweat, bleed, and cry to find all the hidden gems. It's insane how much trail there is out there...
  9. Wow. If I trusted TrailForks to find trails for me...well...trails wouldn't get fucking built.
  10. Looks like section called Tree Hugger between Truth or Dare and Wall (3ft near vert feature that is easy to ride up), looks like he riding W to E, so he just came up Truth or Dare. Either that or the cheater line around EBD, in which case going OTB would have been deserved 😄
  11. I was wondering what all that undercutting was about. And there goes the neighborhood @Morealice loves the dick golf. Yea, it's a interesting little bit of trail system...not something I would drive to go ride, but passing by a couple times I figured I needed to take a closer look. The north side needs some brush hogging or weed eating. As is the south side isn't bad once you understand all the intersections and can make it flow a bit.
  12. You moved to under a rock 😄 There are loads of established trails there now and plenty of riders hit it. I believe @schoolie can be given some credit for some of the expansion.
  13. Yep. There was a bit more than that, as I recall. You could punch out to the powerline and there were other trails, not a lot...but trail beats pavement anyday.
  14. There are decent...actually very nice trails in the neighborhood right beside Behrens to the east as well, Wood Glen... not proper single track, but nice nature trails completely covered by trees in their greepspaces. When I lived off Sam Bass and Hermitage I used to ride all over the area and rode what little was at Behrens at the time as well. From Wood Glen you can then cross Old Settlers and ride the little greenbelt there too at Oak Hollow and Old Settler, ride it over to Sommerset Park via a couple street connections...or ride from Wood Glen down to the doubletrack along the RR tracks and connect to Sommerset or even ride all the way to Sam Bass from there.
  15. You can catch the sidewalk across 183 at Muir Apts to the south side, or hit the jeep roads to trails via the north side of the lake then hit the trail and ride trail ALL the way to Anderson Mill except crossing Cypress, every other crossing is under the streets. Pretty cool, not super fun, but it's trail.
  16. I had not hear of this Burrito thing, but planning something similar for Fall, but throwing in a lap at LGT... though not sure there will be enough daylight. Also, IMO, although Behrens has more real estate, the terrain at Jumano blows Behrens flat boring shit away...reused double track an MTB trail does not make.
  17. If you live in Blockhouse you should be ashamed of yourself for not utilizing and maximizing Jumano Park. If you live in Blockhouse and don't know you have Jumano Park...just stop MTBing and get a road bike, you don't deserve an MTB. Seriously...Jumano has potential. It's already a park, it has sanctioned trails (signage, trailheads)...why aren't you using them, why aren't you maintaining them, why aren't you expanding them. So much potential, it's not a big place, but it could easily handle more trail (hell, just reclaim a lot of the existing overgrown trail and you have a lot more). Connect it to Lakewood Park, connect it via the greenspace over to Blockhouse Creek Blvd. The creek is gorgeous, the cliffs, the trails along the creek, the grotto, the waterfalls... it's a like a mini Walnut Creek without ANYONE there. Just the existing trails and older/overgrown trail will probably net you over 4 miles connecting all of them with a bit of repeat to connect, plenty of room for expanding in the existing space. https://www.strava.com/activities/5771654860 Bonus...like Suburban Ninja... the Red Horn at Scottsdale is real close.
  18. The name < the actual location in a map pic, so fuck it.
  19. Agree. In fact the loop in the northern part has increased in mileage and fun factor in the past 5 years. While the climb up to the Apartments is not fun, it's a blast to bomb down and there are actually 2 main lines to go up/down and a short bit up top to ride. Also, for beginners and extra mileage don't forget the Irving and Hazel Memorial trail, super easy loop.
  20. I'm amazed the pics are still here. Back in the day you wouldn't whisper the word "Ken's" without wrath of the admins.
  21. SRAM Powerlink are directional. Never had issues with installing/taking apart powerlinks and I have bitchass little girl hands. New chain every 1000 miles or less is the cheapest insurance to not having fouled up drivetrains, IME.
  22. Ninja and Church got zilch. Everything there is GTG.
  23. Pfft... R&I is like a frat, bunch of rent a friends, LOL. I keeeeed.
  24. It is almost 10 years old 😄 It's not much of a loss though...it was one of those 'silly' things we did in the beginning.
