@throet can you provide me a map or description on where this is located. I’m not entirely up to speed yet on all of the feature names out on DD. I’d like to get out there this afternoon and see how this can be restored.
+1 I am happy to help remedy as early as this weekend, but I just don't understand the place you are talking about. @GreenMTBrider let me know if you go out.

I make it a point to block when I can. Twice I nearly got nailed
Last week.. three new guys..one on a E bike came down it same time as me.
EBike guy went by me as I stopped. I blocked the other two dudes and nicely explained their sin.
They seemed cool and said they understood. But yea bad shit will happen at some point.

I wonder if I am thinking of same place. Is this the entrance to Picnic on the left hand side of the bridge if traveling West to East on concrete trail.

Moving on. One feature on 1/4 that I’m not sure I will ever try, is Sponge Bob. It scares the sh*t out of me. Is there a way to roll it? Or do you have to drop it?
I regularly roll down Sponge Bob and I’m intermediate at best. Just go down the right side sorta close to the tree. Very easy roll down. Don’t get me wrong. It looks frightening to the eye. Once you do it, you’ll be mad you didn’t do it sooner.

Pretty much. County Commissioner's friend complained that I called him a fat fuck and that it would do him some good to USE the trails.

Completely agree, Deception is going to need some work. Now for some good news...
I have taken on the responsibility as trail steward of Deception (1/4 Notch + Double Down). This is recent and is largely due to the issues I’ve seen on the trail as a result of more trail users. I plan to address the bypasses in the next two weeks and will be out there quite a bit during this period to start planning how to address the large amount of trail widening that is occurring from people trying to take the “easier” path. I will organize workdays as needed.
If you have any input let me know, but the good news is that there is going to be more focus on maintaining one of my favorite trails at Brushy.
Awesome news! Thanks for being willing to step up and help. You know I am down to help for sure! Got most of the face slappers on DD the other day. Just need to finish the section between Jeep road and first bailout.

Today I rode double down and deception like always e to w. I always get to this feature in the same direction and do the rock garden then a wheelie drop. It is a really fun section. After doing it I looked back and decided to do it the other direction for the first time. I thought it was cool. Video makes it look small like always but it is on a little incline and well above my 27.5+ tires hight
Dang @Morris that is VERY impressive. Video definitely does not do justice to the size of that. Nice to see some "bigger" riders doing well. Let's ride some time.

Easy mistake TheX You just missed the hard left towards the beginning of that trail after the first rock garden when you start. The trail takes a hard left. The two trails right there are only about three foot apart. Easy mistake.

Does anyone have any pics or video of Quarter/Double Down back in the 2013 time frame? I am curious how much it has changed over the years.
-
Well, I guess that is better than I thought, but you know there is plenty of guys slipping through the mud when it is there.
-
Sigh, I just don't understand people's insistence on riding wet trails. You KNOW the large majority know it is bad for the trails. Just pure selfishness.

Anyone familiar with Flat Creek Ranch? I'm scheduled to ride out there Sunday. Does it dry out quick?
-
Whew. That thing was way bigger than what I thought I was going to break down.

Wish: Does anyone have an extra handlebar mount for a Garmin 520? Broke mine in a crash 😞

Honeybadger, looks like you chose the wrong tree to put the cushion on! 🙂

Donated! Happy to help. I'll probably never actually ride that new stuff on Snail, but y'all work hard on all kinds of stuff so I'm happy to help. Are we still planning on moving the one ramp to Peddler's? I'm ready to help with that.

Anyone have a video of the new section on Snail? Have tendinitis in my wrist and haven't been able to grip the handlebar (among other things...) with my right hand in two weeks.
Basically just picture the scariest thing imaginable!

I assume you are talking about the shorter wood drop that sends you over the trail and into a bowl to a step up to the wall ride. Some folk have issue carrying enough speed through the switch berms. So there is a bypass that cuts out the first berm and drops you straighter into the feature to help with making it to the transition.

Jesus, it sounds scary with you just describing the features. Yikes.

Margets log is going to be replaced with a wood ramp donated from Snail Trail.
Awesome! Do you need any help with install?

The log that was holding it up got knocked out of place a couple of months ago, so it's been slowly wearing down since then. It's on my list to fix. I've been spending my building time on Snail Trail the last couple of months. There's a berm next to the chainlink fence on the Eastside that needs attention first.
With the nice down slope with a run out and wide trail there available for a b line, would you be interested in putting in a small jump? I’d help build. Was thinking no higher than the current jump under the bridge between the lake and softball field.

I actually watched that last night and it's what inspired me to just go for it this morning.
I am same way. Pretty disappointed I didn't do the middle one. I got to the end and almost killed myself trying to stop. Would have been safer to send it. Looks pretty safe with any type of speed at all. Very cool doing that.

Dang that is definitely unsafe. I'd never make it through there without that rock.
