  1. @GreenMTBrider or others. I am trying to become more helpful in trail maintenance out at Brushy. Maybe someone could just meet me up there one day just to review the "how tos" on flattening ruts or improving drainage. Yesterday, I just tried to dig some trenches below each area that water was puddling at trail crossings on 1/4 and Picnic. Hope I did it right. Also cut some face slappers and trimmed the bottom of the drop in on Picnic at 1/4 notch bailout entrance to Picnic.
  2. Awesome news. I would not have guessed 1/4 would be good. Hopefully the draining the puddles helped yesterday.
  3. I have watched a ton of youtube videos on these the last few days, and I am really interested in potentially putting them on my 2020 Giant Trance. A few questions: 1) Overall thoughts on Oval rings? 2) Any particular brand/model? 3) What number of tooth? 30? 32? 34? 4) Anything I need to know?
  4. Quarter Notch is definitely not ready. I just spent almost two hours working on drainage. Still majority soft at crossings.
  5. Maybe they should spend some money to repair that feature. It’s missing board right now.
  6. Wow, that is what the "intermediate slope style" is going to be like? Daaaang, that looks fun. I better keep brushing up on ramps.
  7. I envision something similar to log feature on east side of Peddler's Pass.
  8. At the quick downhill section on Picnic heading west right where the 1/4 notch bailout hits it, would it be ok to weedeat all that grass and trim some branches so that isn't such a blind corner when you whip around to your left? I don't mind helping but also don't want to upset trail stewards.
  9. Sorry I jinxed you! Those tight hair pins are tough. I'm down to only having to walk two spots on Quarter Notch (from about 12 a few months ago). I normally ride it E to W and just can't get up the 2 foot high pop up and then later in the ride is another pop up (that has a b line around it, *wink*). I guess in theory I haven't made it up the one climb all the way that has that last stair step at the top, but I don't walk the formation on purpose. The two ledges I'm not comfortable attempting yet.
  10. I’m sure that is it Quixoft. I try to be good about it but I think everything is magnified because I am larger (only 269 but down 45 pounds, yay). Just so much more torque on gears.
  11. So say my number is 3. Granted, I’m fat. What am I doing wrong?
  12. What is a typical broken chain per year for a frequent rider?
  13. Quarter is definitely GTG. Broke my chain before I got to picnic.
  14. I can go try Quarter Notch and Picnic. I don't want to even try Peddler's after the rain.
  15. It's ok @quixoft I am a pretty happy person and see the bright side of life, BUUUUUUT nothing gets me more upset than off leash dogs and I too have a dog.
  16. That was it. Thanks for all your work.
  17. @HoneyBadger Were you out working on Peddler's yesterday? I saw you while I was on the loop, but had a good time working. I rode over about ten minutes after that but you/someone had already left. I was going to try and help out a bit. Thanks for all you do out there. Peddler's Pass sure is fun to ride.
  18. Perfect! Now I just got to get my dropper post fixed. AJ just ordered me a 1up post.
  19. If I helped pay for these signs to be put on various trails like Peddlers, Snail, Deception, and Ninja, do you think the City/County/Whomever would allow it. Seems like money well spent. I'm happy to get it going but I know ARR does stuff like this. I'm just so tired of seeing people damage trails when wet.
  20. Someone mentioned to me there might be a "drop trainer" at the Free512 location in Smithville, I need to find out. As for jumps, I agree as well. I am going to go to Seguin MTB bike soon. They are supposed to have a good progression of jumps available to learn on. They even do a skills camp there from time to time.
