  1. Only in your small mind macky baby... Only in your small mind.
  2. That's about the size of it for human nature.
  3. Above is a reply dummy. And about as pointless as most of your comments.
  4. I'll go through Yosmithy's concerns one by one... Yosmithy says... "This thread started about a feature that already had multiple alternative lines, and the primary feature still got destroyed,..." Yes... Which tells us that the problem requires something other than just alternate lines to try and solve it... Doesn't it. Yosmithy says... "...then you jumped in with your usual diatribe." Well... I could say the same about you, couldn't I. But that would only be propagating more uselessness. Yosmithy says... "How many fucking lines do you think needs to be there? Anywhere?" One is more than enough for me. But I think the trail builder in charge is the one to determine what's needed. Let me know if you need me to address anymore of your concerns, Yosmithy. Sorry... I left out the last two in your above quoted speaking... Yosmithy says... "Oh wait, I'm too entitled to ask that question." By presenting the above thought... I'd think chances are... Yes, perhaps you think you are. Yosmithy says... "I have no idea why cxagent would want to engage in a conversation about this with you when he already pointed out the obvious." Thankfully... As much as you may want to think that all things should be according to what you, well, think they should be... Here's a little heads up... They aren't.
  5. Sure. That's how the world works. Talk is cheap. Work isn't. All this aside... I appreciate you making the effort to speak to me about my thoughts on this matter... And doing so in a productive way.
  6. BTW... After I posted my thoughts on a section of the SATN trail, TheTip (the trail steward for SATN) contacted me once regarding meeting with him... And I did quite quickly. And met wth him again on another occasion regarding more participation in SATN trail building/maintenance. If you look in my garage you'll see a bunch of different tools that I've been buying for the specific purpose of doing just that... Participating in SATN trail building/maintenance. And I live in an apartment complex... I don't need to have these types of tools for my personal use. And although I'm not in a rush... Here's a funny twist regarding what I'm considering... The new trail that I'd like to add to the section that's near to where I live I was thinking should be for riders like Seth... Meaning... Difficult... As there's already a trail that's easy, and the area I'm looking at has great features for harder stuff. See, ATXZ... I'm even up for building trail I most likely won't ride myself. Why? Because I think there should be options for all levels of riders to enjoy.
  7. When I get some communication cxagent on this I think... "I am listening. Show me what needs to be done. I take all good ideas and try to move them forward. Just be warned I don't make decision on a lot of things. The land manager does. I can only request / recommend. And I do a lot of that." To which I responded... "If you're serious, let's meet. Eat the hay and leave the sticks."
  8. I've been giving my time here on this thread... Even given all the silly crap presented by others. And as I told cxagent... I'd be more than willing to meet with him and see where I can help. I've worked with trail builders on maintenance days. I've worked as a volunteer on a race day. I speak to people I meet who are interested in mtbing, trying to point them in the proper direction re. how to begin their mtb experience in a proper way. I keep abreast of what others are doing in other parts of the country/world regarding mtb sport development. I've spent time supporting efforts like Yellow Bike. I stay in touch with the local SW trail steward, and have told him that I am interested in helping maintain a section of the trail near to where I live, and even build some new sections to it. ATXZ... I have no problem being involved. Never have. In fact, I often try to initiate efforts. For exmple... Earlier this year at the Lifetime Fitness South club I took the lead to develop, promoted and managed a squash team league over 8 weeks, with 28 participants. After which I developed, promoted and managed a monthly squash ladder, one that's currently up to 50+ participants. No one is paying me to do this stuff... And many squash players are benefitting/enjoying the results of my efforts. And even better... These efforts are helping to build the squash playing community here in Austin. And next year I'm hoping that we can get together and stage an intercity bi-annual tournament with San Antonio, and possibly some sort of City team league with the other squash clubs here in Austin. I try to put my money where my mouth is, ATXZ... But not for a bunch of whiners. I do it for those who are really interested in participating in making a difference. And yes, I know... You haven't seen that where upgrading my bike is concerned... But that's because it's not a big priority, and isn't on a timeline. But in things that are... I try to do what's needed.
  9. As old school as it may sound... I think an Austin Mountain Biking magazine would do wonders towards helping inform and educate the local Austin trail users community... In a positive way towards the desires of the Austing mtb community. Everythings going app these days... Let's come up with an app for the mtb community. Also a website might help... One that is properly administrated and governed by the mission related to this website (and app)... Meaning, void of the useless static that seems to be par for the course on Austin mtb websites. Grassroots efforts are also needed. I know of a growing group of mtb riders in the Bastrop area... One came to buy a frame from me a week ago... Had no idea that there was this extensive 80-mile trail system in SW Austin. They need to be reached out to and brought under the wing of the Austin mtb community. And here's a good reason why... They come to Austin to ride the trails here. Let's get ahead of any possible ignorant of proper mtb trail useage by building community with them. And that goes for newbies right here in Austin. And all this may sound like a whole lot of babysitting, pandering, coddling BS... But for better or worse, that's where society is at the moment. And if you don't believe me... Just take a look at Bentonville... That's exactly what's happening there... A whole lot of babysitting, pandering, coddling... Driven by a whole lot of $$$s. What's happening here in Austin regarding the mtb scene is not some kind of new phenomenon... It's quite common in growing societies, and there's lots of information available regarding successful ways to deal with it. All that is needed is the proper mindset/attitude towards taking the steps needed.
  10. ATXZ... What we're discussing is simply a matter of community building. Unfortunately... Over many years society in this country has moved away from true community building — which requires self sacrifice... such as what we see out of people like cxagent — towards the divisiveness of division based on personal preferences/desire/ambition/etc.. This divisiveness of division is the foundation of... The ground of... The "...ENTITLED..." feeling folk. Shoot... Right here on this thread can be seen a whole lot of the characteristics of "...ENTITLED..." feeling folk... One of the easy ones to spot being the quickness of falling into ad hominem attacks against people who might be seen as speaking something different to those who fall to ad hominem attacks. I don't want to take anything away from all you brave young men on your wonderfully prepared riding machines... Quite the opposite... I want to try and help avoid it happening. And the way I have seen this type of problem resolved... To a degree, as we don't live in a perfect world... Is by doing exactly what the person who attends all the City planning meetings does... Choose to make the sacrifice to do so... With the understanding that there will always be some give needed to get a bit of take. And that's what I'm trying to put forward here on this thread... To get... You need to give. And that's how the world works.
  11. I think this that was said, ATXZ... That may have been overlooked in all the useless static... Is a good beginning.
  12. LOL... Votes... Possibly why Trump's president.
  13. I think City Park to a certain extent does just that.
  14. I have been trying to on this thread, ATXZJ. I'm not the one who initiated ad hominem attacks. Perhaps you can exhort others here to stay on topic.
  15. And here we see big 'ol Chongo Loco talking dishonestly out of his arse I never made any promise to "... not be a fuckin douchebag on the new site...". Shoot... I didn't have to... As I don't think I am a "...fuckin douchebag...". Now, for sure... When people talk out of their arse as you have done here... All they've done is expose themselves as being a "...fuckin douchebag...". And the fact that you were like this on the other site certainly suggests "...a douchebag just can’t change it’s stripes." As for the other "... douchebaggery..." stuff you said... See if you can follow me here Douchey... Since I don't see myself as presenting "... douchebaggery...", and certainly don't need the support of others who themselves push "... douchebaggery..."... I don't see any "...wither and die..." in relation to my participation on this site in my immediate future. But hey... Feel free to give yourself a hug for your silly childish ad hominem effort.
  16. Actually... You're talking out of your arse again... And being dishonest while doing so. Most of the effort/approach of society is to try and find ways to make living easier. NFL receivers now have super sticky gloves that help them catch and hold onto balls far easier than in the past. Rock climbers have better equipment than in the past. Shoot... Mountain bikers have better equipment than in the past. Now this doesn't mean the people utilizing this better equipment stop pushing the boundaries of what they can do with this better equipment, but it does mean that in the routine things their effort has been made a bit easier. And related to trail building... Where possible, alternate routes should be provided — and are by those who see what's happening in society regarding the sport of mountain biking and its relationship to society on a whole — so that along with other benefits, things like this that someonbe in and above comment said, can take place... "...As we approached that feature I encouraged him to take the lower line and avoid the tree up high that I usually ride..." With private property trail builders, such as Seth stated, they can do whatever they want. That's not how it should work on public property. And even if that's how it worked in the past here in Austin... Because of the way things are going re. use of public land by the growing diverse-thinking public... Things are going to, and already have to a certain extent... Changed. And if you don't like it, old man... You can... Check this out... In your own words... "...go elsewhere."
  17. No doubt about it. But... The fact remains... There are people who think they have the ground to mess with trails... And that's obviously a problem... As is exposed in many comments here on this thread. And ranting/whining won't solve it. But for me... Forums like these are a good place to begin to find ways to solve problems. But yes, I know well how much effort and patience it takes to work through all the useless static found in most comments.
  18. Possibly because most of the people posting on this thread are in love with themselves and each other. That's how you "...ENTITLED..." thinking folk roll. Also the blind in one eye and can't see out the other reality may apply. Not rocket science silly fellow.
  19. Found, XT stm739 One is fine, the other is missing a cap. Will post photos in a few hours.
  20. If you're serious, let's meet. Eat the hay and leave the sticks.
  21. All caps... You must be another loudmouth.
  22. cxagent... I have no complaints about Walnut Creek... And I've said that on many occasions. And when I've come out on work days I just follow orders. My speaking on Root Drop was simply as a referance/example regarding a type of feature/section that could use an alternate route. I didn't say it needs to be done now. And I first said this on mojo some 8 years ago. Now we're stuck with it as is, until we're not. Things change. And I certainly understand that there are always challenges re. building trail... Some section moreso than others. But again, I simply referenced it as an example of a feature/section of trail that I think could have used/can use an alternated route. Just as has been done at Pace Bend, Mule Shoe, etc.. And absolutely keep things good with the land managers... It's how things work. Regarding signage... No man is an island... Sure sounds like you need help, which should be one of the priorities dealt with in moving forward. As for this assinine statement... "I guess you are in the minority that thinks they should be able to ride everything on a trail or the trail needs to change" I understand you're upset... But no, I don't think in the way you've foolishly suggested above that I might. And as for the last time I was at Pace Bend... It was some months ago when there was the race day... As a volunteer out on the course. Hope that helps you.
  23. In a perfect world... But we don't live in a perfect world.
  24. LOL... On point #1... You're the man. On point #2... Bite me.
  25. I think they are very fair in their pricing. You can find some things cheaper, but that requires spending more time looking. Theprocloset.com is a good place to begin looking and get a sense of what the just above average asking price in the market is. Also think they are very clear, specific and honest about what they sell.
