mack_turtle
from an email I got today: "Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) staff and consultant team members will guide participants through an open house, providing an opportunity for feedback and discussion on the citywide goals for parks and open space, as well as priorities for specific areas of the city. If you are unable to make it to one of the meetings, PARD will also provide a virtual meeting online and pop-up meetings at other locations around the city. The results from meeting series #2 will directly shape the goals, strategies, and actions of PARD’s Long Range Plan." Anything else to bring up?
Teamsloan
+1 on the skills park. Also, NO SCOOTERS ON THE TRAILS!
William_Cannon
If they tell you SW Austin can’t have a dog park because there would not be enough impervious ground, they’re full of it. Just a friendly FYI...
William_Cannon
Seriously, thanks for doing this. Skills park would be awesome and as a dog owner it would be great to have a dog park southwest. BTW, I think the dog park proposal in circle c got shutdown because of ADA requirements and associated cost.A little unsolicited advice - frame arguments as the value it will bring instead the lack of something. Providing comparative examples from other progressive cities, both domestic and abroad, could help as well. “Portland has X number of dog parks per capita and three different certifications for organic food. To keep up with the Jones, Austin would need Y number."
