  1. Good to see you post a ride pic, broseph.
  2. Yeah I was told I was riding it backwards by going left at the bottom/beginning/end of the trail. I rode it the “correct” way the other day and it was waaaay less flowy that way. Way more fun riding it backwards with the big swoopy part being the payoff at the end, imo
  3. Thanks to you guys. Saw Ronan on zee trail. Y’all made some big boy cuts. Sweetness.
  4. I’m at Gumdrop now and really all that needs to be done is to “Trim the Trimmings” in a Nirvana’s Serve the Servants spirit. No need to move all that shit. Just cut the trimmings at the West most end of the pile and make a little S turn into the mouth. Dirt conditions are sweet bewbs too, btw.
  5. Is this at Olson Meadows entrance? Can’t quite tell from pic?
  6. Thanks to Gotdurt and Skyyhorn Gumdrop rolls perfectly now. Trail fairy nation. 🧚‍♀️ *poof* Gonna need them chainsaws again on Caddyshack. I didn’t even ride the whole thing because it was mangled with big trees. Beautiful day though.
  7. Can anyone with a chainsaw meet me on Gumdrop East and help me clear it? It’s legit and the space is tight. It’s just a little ways in headed West from the East Olson Meadows entrance. Thinking Wednesday morning?
  8. Yeah I think the major difference between you and me is purely fitness. I made it however far on HoL and got dizzy and felt like I should get off the bike. Walked the middle third and then remounted at that left turn platform area and finished, but man. That’s a grind when all you’re used to is Brushy length climbs with an occasional wild hair cx road ride to Big View and City Park. I rode Deception cleanly with one dab on a stupid log... like you said, not even hard. But that was an out and back before everything else was built. The trail was WAY easier back then, but still would have been a good ride nonetheless. But the HoL to me, right now, seems impossible. It’s gonna take some real big boy work.
  9. Oh goodie... now I can just ride the bitch line down per usual. Why are you such a big swollen sack of discharge? PLEASE tell me.
  10. This thread/story is pure gold. I rarely get to the HoL but I’ve made it a goal of mine before I move in 5 years to ride it up cleanly. My Buddy can do it but it WRECKS him and he’s much faster/fitter than I am. I may not ever do it, but damn. If I can’t do that, I won’t make the CO climbs I’m hoping to move close to.
  11. If I were ever gonna “come at you”.... now would be the time, gimp ass.
  12. I rode earlier and did the East half of peddler from Parmer to exit/entrance at the end of my ride. I only hopped on because I saw people on the West side. The part I rode was absolute tits, but I then came upon the chain when exiting. My bad, but at least I didn’t get into any mud I guess. Wondering where the sign went that was at the bailout by Picnic X on “Double Down” 🤮...it was like brass or something and was a shrine to Rugger. I mean. That’s a bitch ass move for someone to do away with that. Someone appreciated what Rugger contributed (which was very significant) and made a sign, albeit cheesy, and it should have stayed there. So again...bitch ass move. It was on the tree where my bike is I think. I at least liked to make fun of him about it, but now I can’t because someone is an actual dick. Tapped in to my old school (as far as Brushy goes) trailbuilder bitterness with that move.
  13. Y’all are badasses. Thanks so much for the maintenance work and trail reports. Such a sick resource. also, to whomever trimmed that piece of shit trail Snow White over by gnargasm thank you. You got all the ones I missed, haha. ugh, with suburban ninja it’s just awesome
  14. I’m out at Satellite right now... on Deception/Double Down (puke) and it’s too wet here. This is usually my go to spot to see if a ride can be done. Was hoping for 2pm but I am picking up mud on the bottom of my flip flops. Blows. Still might just spin the mtb and practice wheelies on the bike n bike *fart noise...2nd thought I think it’s a few hours on the motorcycle.
  15. Jammer is very difficult for me. I don’t even remember the last time I made it up. The approach is tough IMO. There’s like one tire width line on the approach that works for me and if I’m leaning just a few degrees off when I go to hit the feature, forget about it. EBD...pfff, I don’t have the fitness anymore to make it by the time I get there. I usually just pop a wheelie and set my front tire up near the top and then walk up it, dejected. But oh well. I see the line I wanna take... it involves riding up it the way I used to be able to but I need to hit the root at the bottom with my front tire to get it going up the face. There’s a contact patch all the way up that way, but I don’t ride nearly as much as I used to and I’m not going to ride more so whatever.
  16. Hopefully you can drop a quick note here por favor. I don’t have a Twitter account and don’t think I can see comments. Hoping to leave in 45min...but if not, guess I’ll find out either way.
  17. Haha I’ll only ride your front yard again if you laid down that fresh grass! Otherwise, no destruction, no care.
  18. Yeah I am hoping to ride tomorrow afternoon at the warmest part of the day fingers crossed. I guess today I’ll just have to hang out with my kids. Ugh. (jk)
  19. Yeah I don’t have experience riding all over the place but I HAVE to believe if you can ride the shit around Austin from a technical standpoint you can probably ride stuff anywhere. Just my guess. To me, THAT is the perceived value.
  20. I’m starting to feel the same way. I alternate Deception and SN days to save my body some. I’m moving to the mountains somewhere in 5.5 years and I can’t wait to have long climbs and smoother overall tread (at least what I’ve ridden in CO and NM). We’re all getting older. It’s harder on our bodies and the risk becomes not worth it. I mean I used to look forward to hitting certain features and barreling down them. Now....ehhhhh. I skip stuff and walk stuff and I’m fine with it. These Centex trails will beat a person down over time. It’s been 20 years for me now and I’m pretty much over it... but for a few more years it’s what I got. I still think Deception has value in handling and pure challenge factor, but those 30+ mile SN days where I avoid Deception are much kinder on the body, but more boring (to me). Overall, I’m glad to have all these options really. I think that’s the overarching thing for me.
  21. Yesssss... to this and the other posts about The Cradle. I used to ride the slot back in the day and just kinda hit it with speed. Now I go high right and come down then hard right through trees and on... but this day I just hit it wrong by about 1-2” and that was it..I had decent speed and legs going in, just jammed it and fell over, haha. Hand is fine now. I’m gonna float up that bitch next time... but I’ll pay somewhere else probably. 😜 Long Live the Trail!!
  22. Thank you guys for doing that line. It’ll be nice to have a sanctioned connector to rimjob. Rode today... not sure it gets better. It was on the cold side but with the Sun there was no sweat at all and wasn’t cold either. Rode for about 2.5hrs and didn’t even finish 50oz bladder. Didn’t touch my bottle. I would say it was an old school ride but I actually saw about 5 people total. Back in the day it was almost always zero. Got worked by the Cradle...stalled out, didn’t unclip and just kinda landed on my hand and side. Double Down is just plain hard now. I still love it though, even though my hands are starting to disagree. Stirring in some days of Sub Ninja and skipping Deception helps though. That is all, really.
