  1. Wait a few days on your post pics, i've still got to put on the topper.
  2. The plan is to have a sign post at every entry point.
  3. Its cemented 2 feet into the ground ( 6x6 post).
  4. I had to be the 1st to post a pic of their bike and new signpost.
  5. I'm going to be digging a sign post hole at the entrance to Peddlers Pass after 5:00pm today, so i'll be implementing a fee of 5 swings of the pickaxe prior to admittance. But in all seriousness, I've got to dig down 2 feet in solid rock so if you can stop by and help for a few minutes that would be awesome.
  6. Anyone want to do some light building and ride tonight on Peddlers ?
  7. AJ build some trail East of Parmer about 6 years ago. He got busy and it became overgrown and people stopped using it. About three years ago my kids wanted to ride with me but there was nowhere suitable at Brushy. I remembered there was trail over there and cleared a little out so my kids could ride it. I called it Carcass Cafe. I later found out AJ was the one that originally built in that area so I changed the name to Peddlers Pass in homage to the OG builder with a play off the name of his bike shop, The Peddler.
  8. Hell yeah i use my dinner room table to work on...there's A/C inside.
  9. The two "D's" were done different ways to see which looks best after sanding the face of the sign. I never used the apostrophe because it does not look as good on signs etc imo.
  10. Probably 6, i haven't decided yet. They will be, at the start/finish, where the trail crosses the concrete sidewalk, a few under Parmer, and one at the drop by the creek close to the end of the trail.
  11. Thanks. The signs are going to look so good. Hopefully, I'll have the "Test Mule" finished today and I can post some pictures. I've been trying different techniques for painting the letters, the picture doesn't do it justice.
  12. New signage for Peddlers Pass is in the works. I'll probably start installing some time next week.
  13. @GreenMTBrider I would remove the rope. I think it gives the impression that it is ok to be climbing up this feature. It's really dangerous for hikers to be doing this, I know I wouldn't be able to stop in time if I came over the lip and found a hiker scrambling up the side.
  14. I'll be using some of the GoFundMe money to add bigger/better signage at all the entry points. Probably a 4"x4" post (or bigger) with all the information cnc'd on to the faces. I'll also be repurposing some of the cedar trees I've cut down as fencing to block the un-sanctioned entrances, especially under Parmer.
  15. Last Friday evening was too hot. The heat index was well above 100 degrees. I did some building at the entrance to Peddlers Pass (improving sightlines for those entering and exiting the trail). I was there longer than expected (3 hours). After 2.5 hours I started to see the 1st signs of heat exhaustion, no energy and a little nauseous. At 3 hours I recognized I better stop before it got worse. That night I threw up several times and felt like S!@#. I drank plenty of water and was working in the shade. I was really surprised at how quickly the symptoms started. Normally, my early warning symptom is a slight headache, when get that I stop. This time, no headache, straight to throwing up. Make sure you educate yourself on the symptoms.
  16. Where's the Brushy Creek thread gone. I can't find it.
  17. Can someone check Peddlers Pass and if it's good to go take the chain down (if it's still up)
  18. People riding muddy trails again. Use the Strava "Flyby" function to see who rode the trails yesterday. Seems like the chain worked in keeping people off Peddlers Pass.
  19. The Peddlers Pass Trail Fund GoFundMe page is doing really well. As of this morning, $3,627 has been raised for trail improvements. Thank you to everyone that has donated. We've got some really cool stuff planned.
