  1. Honestly, those look really good. I went over to that spot yesterday. Only did the small one (My friend and I built the trail that leads to the small ramp). Biggest thing I noticed is the faster I seemed to go the easier it was on me and my bike. If you go a little quicker you don't have to pull up or anything. Your speed looked good though. I've watched countless videos and this is the best one I've seen. Actually echoes what @olddbrider was saying above. Very good bike drop tutorial
  2. Hell yeah dude. That is awesome.
  3. Completed my chain ring switch out. Crazy how easy that was. Love the AbsoluteBlack Oval ring. Can’t wait to try it out tomorrow.
  4. Wow, I can't even imagine the oh shit butt puckering factor there in that spot.
  5. Holy smokes. Did you roll that drop? Or did you make the transition.
  6. I ordered this one just because it was a little better rated, but thanks for the thoughts. https://www.amazon.com/Venzo-Bicycle-Torque-Wrench-Socket/dp/B00811WQT8/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=venzo+bike+wrench&qid=1591288619&s=sporting-goods&sr=1-1
  7. So the torx bolts that attach the chain ring to the crank need 5-7nm, however the main 8MM hex bolt for the crank needs 54nm. So basically I need the 1/4 inch small torque wrench and a bigger one for the big bolt. Am I thinking about this right?
  8. you anywhere near Cedar Park?
  9. From watching the videos. I am most worried about how in the world to torque the torx bolts to only 5-7 newts. The 3/8 torque wrench I bought today starts at 20. The wrench will be fine for the 8mm main bolt, but I have no idea how to torque those little ones.
  10. I have a Sram SX Dub. Sadly I can’t find a YouTube video that shows that specific crankset disassembly. However. I now own a torque wrench, torx bits and loc tite so the sky is the limit. Lol. Hopefully I install tomorrow or Friday. Will definitely post pics. The red metallic is beautiful.
  11. Got this in today. Now I just got to get it on. Bike shops are stacked up for weeks. Went and bought a torque wrench, but got to admit I'm a little uneasy about it.
  12. I would be shocked if it is not ok. I live nearby, it was super brief showers. With that said, I wouldn't head that way to do the ramps. I don't believe they finished the jump lines this weekend. @El Gringo is the jump lines open? I can personally attest that the new drop section is good 🙂 I built a line to the new smaller drops that is pretty cool. Big thanks to 512 crew for building the smaller drop sections. It's going to help a lot of people.
  13. I enjoyed my time out there today. Pretty cool to help build a trail I know I will use. Can’t wait to hit the beginner drop line.
  14. Hey peeps. I am working on building a new line that will flow into the smaller drop line. I cleared most of the limbs and trees today but need help tomorrow bringing some dirt from down below to smooth out the line since beginners will be using this. Would anyone be interested in meeting me around 9am on Sunday at the drop area? My name is Bill. Let me know if you are interested or just stop by. Hoping it should only take two hours at most if I had a little help. Hopefully less.
  15. Absolutely plus one on both. LOL. Glad I wasn't the only one. My son was riding his bike at a ridiculously young age. Everyone at the park would start asking how in the world I taught him so young. Find a nice grassy slope and let him go!
  16. Peddlers pass was all good except two low spots on East side between Parmer and concrete path. I left chain up due to that. Should be gtg tomorrow.
  17. Nice vids @Morris where is the location of the first 2 drops you did on that video?
  18. I ordered the 30T Oval today in the Red Metallic. It is going to look sweeeeeet.
  19. I just looked up both of those. I have something similar all the Mattock is slightly bent from pulling out a tree stump.
  20. Well yesterday was a shovel 🙂 I'll have to look in to a McLeod or mattock. I'll admit, I have no idea what those are. I'd be happy to help on trail condition reporting. Might just need to remind me. C'mon good weather!!!
  21. I currently have a 30T round. The absoluteBlack site is recommending just staying with 30T. I guess that is the safest bet. Thoughts?
  22. Thanks. MTB has changed my life the last 6 months and the Brushy/Surburban Ninja trails are a large reason for that. Just trying to give back.
  23. This is all very helpful. Looks like I am taking the plunge!
