Picnic g2g
1/4 Notch g2g
Double Down g2g
Rim g2g
Still some soft spots at low areas, but majority of trail is good and if we waited for those areas to dry after a rain we'll never be riding. Didn't check anything else since I have to work, but there you go.
Awesome news. I would not have guessed 1/4 would be good. Hopefully the draining the puddles helped yesterday.

I have watched a ton of youtube videos on these the last few days, and I am really interested in potentially putting them on my 2020 Giant Trance. A few questions:
1) Overall thoughts on Oval rings?
2) Any particular brand/model?
3) What number of tooth? 30? 32? 34?
4) Anything I need to know?

Quarter Notch is definitely not ready. I just spent almost two hours working on drainage. Still majority soft at crossings.

And this to come. Probably the shortest trail in Whistler (it's really an offshoot from A-Line) but my FAVORITE! We just got notified that our typical summer in Whistler is off due to the border not reopening because of the CHICOM-19 virus. Guess we'll just have to build it here!
Holy smokes, that was crazy.

Wow, that is what the "intermediate slope style" is going to be like? Daaaang, that looks fun. I better keep brushing up on ramps.

I am 100 percent cool with this being a skinny type feature. You wanna build it? Or at least design it and see where we can source materials

I envision something similar to log feature on east side of Peddler's Pass.

At the quick downhill section on Picnic heading west right where the 1/4 notch bailout hits it, would it be ok to weedeat all that grass and trim some branches so that isn't such a blind corner when you whip around to your left? I don't mind helping but also don't want to upset trail stewards.

Well evidently I'm a fortune teller or @horncpa gave me some bad luck. Just ran through 1/4 Notch then down to Picnic. Broke my damn chain on the last climb of Picnic coming up from the creek about 100 yards from the end going east... Debated on fixing it but I was parked by the skate park and BCRT is mostly down hill so I just rode back with no chain and walked a bit.
On the plus side, this was my 2nd run through 1/4 Notch ever and I only had to walk it up a few times. Two of the hairpins that are super tight between trees. Not sure how anyone can maneuver through those trees unless they have a tiny clown bike. Also had to walk it a few feet on a couple of the longer climbs with multiple step ups. But it was much better than my first attempt through it where I felt like I walked half the damn trail.Sorry I jinxed you! Those tight hair pins are tough. I'm down to only having to walk two spots on Quarter Notch (from about 12 a few months ago). I normally ride it E to W and just can't get up the 2 foot high pop up and then later in the ride is another pop up (that has a b line around it, *wink*). I guess in theory I haven't made it up the one climb all the way that has that last stair step at the top, but I don't walk the formation on purpose. The two ledges I'm not comfortable attempting yet.

I’m sure that is it Quixoft. I try to be good about it but I think everything is magnified because I am larger (only 269 but down 45 pounds, yay). Just so much more torque on gears.

So say my number is 3. Granted, I’m fat. What am I doing wrong?

What is a typical broken chain per year for a frequent rider?

I can go try Quarter Notch and Picnic. I don't want to even try Peddler's after the rain.
Quarter is definitely GTG. Broke my chain before I got to picnic.

That was me, if it was a long righthand berm on the West side of Parmer around 5:30pm. If it wasn't, some assholes doing a no no.
That was it. Thanks for all your work.

@HoneyBadger Were you out working on Peddler's yesterday? I saw you while I was on the loop, but had a good time working. I rode over about ten minutes after that but you/someone had already left. I was going to try and help out a bit. Thanks for all you do out there. Peddler's Pass sure is fun to ride.

Yep - we have a drop zone with 5 ladders ranging from ~2-3' up to 10'
Perfect! Now I just got to get my dropper post fixed. AJ just ordered me a 1up post.

If I helped pay for these signs to be put on various trails like Peddlers, Snail, Deception, and Ninja, do you think the City/County/Whomever would allow it. Seems like money well spent. I'm happy to get it going but I know ARR does stuff like this. I'm just so tired of seeing people damage trails when wet.

Same here. Both jumps and drops. I'm just fine on anything less than 3' but my eyes start getting wide on anything higher. It would be nice if there were some areas around town with a good progression of drops and jumps for beginners to get more confidence. I've accidentally gone off one of the higher drops along Picnic(4 or 5 ft) thinking it was one of the lower ones. I made it without crashing but it definitely wasn't pretty and there was a narrow miss with a tree so I haven't attempted again!
Someone mentioned to me there might be a "drop trainer" at the Free512 location in Smithville, I need to find out.
As for jumps, I agree as well. I am going to go to Seguin MTB bike soon. They are supposed to have a good progression of jumps available to learn on. They even do a skills camp there from time to time.

@GreenMTBrider or others. I am trying to become more helpful in trail maintenance out at Brushy. Maybe someone could just meet me up there one day just to review the "how tos" on flattening ruts or improving drainage. Yesterday, I just tried to dig some trenches below each area that water was puddling at trail crossings on 1/4 and Picnic. Hope I did it right. Also cut some face slappers and trimmed the bottom of the drop in on Picnic at 1/4 notch bailout entrance to Picnic.
