FYI - the drop is currently closed, as we're reworking the landing to be steeper and more smooth. We've been challenged in getting a machine out there, so we decided to suck it up and do it by hand. We are also doubling the width of the landing so we can add a smaller drop so folks can start small and progress. As you can imagine, it's A LOT of rock and dirt to move, but we're doing our best. We've held off on building the entry until we get signs up notifying riders of the necessity of having a waiver on file with FR512, but we hope to get it done soon!

Excellent news!   I'd love to have somewhere to learn drops.

Oh! Is the new Snail drop an attempted duplicate of that thing? It looks just like it with the ramp-down beside it.

And since we're talking about drops, do make sure you get your speed right! I came into this drop too slow, cased, and . . . well, you'll see. I've had several years of redemption on that drop, but this one owned me and claimed my Fox 40:

Wow.  That looked crazy.  Nice you could walk away from that.

Great job and congrats on the weight loss!

I'm not sure what your weight class is but checking Strava I don't see any top spots claimed across the weight classes on Apr 20. I do see that a couple of heavyweights moved into the top 5 yesterday but not the top spot. Not trying to poop in your punchbowl - just making sure that you're viewing the full leaderboard.

Weird.   Which version of Peddler's Pass are you looking at?  I don't have the full version of Strava but I see myself ranked 1 on three of the versions of it.

    Nice!

I see your 17 minutes and raise you 2.5 minutes. 19 minutes and 30 seconds for me today, lol! I figure that's not too bad for how out of shape I am and probably my 4th time ever on that trail. Today was actually the first time all the way through without stopping for a rest.

That was me about three months ago.   Keep up the good work and stay out there!   I'm loving it.

  5. Big thanks to @HoneyBadger and his continued work on Peddler's Pass.  Rode it for the first time in a couple weeks and it is just getting faster!  Primo conditions yesterday.

I was pretty excited yesterday to take the top spot on Strava for Peddler's for my weight class.  Finally broke 17 minutes.  Felt like I was flying.   Weight loss helps!  Dropped 45 pounds since Jan 1.

  6. I will defer to @HoneyBadger but I would say absolutely not.   That trail is way too fast to be ridden both ways.  It would be wreck central out there.

In that vein,  how much do we need to put more signage on PP in regards to where the entrance is and not to ride when trails are wet signs?   I am happy to kick in some funds and even happy to help get the signs.

Boring? I think you may be missing some. There are several lines over there. Boring is not what I would use to describe Gnargasm and Caddyshack. Take a look at my map I sent. It's a bit more detailed with labels.

    Questions:

    1)  Where is ankle biter in this?

    2)  I don't recall seeing Chutes and Ladders.  Is it MTB trail?  Is "in da werks" mean y'all are making this trail?

    3)  I always was calling Snow White, Caddyshack, but this map looks like Caddy Shack is after gnargasm going towards the dam.  How do I get on this trail?

No worries at all. I've actually been saving for a full suspension bike so a new bike is planned, I just wasn't quite sure I needed it just yet with what I was riding and my skill level. Now that I've found more difficult stuff and have the scrapes and bumps(and sore bum), it seems a better idea at this time. Looking at the cost of upgrading what I have, it seems more prudent to buy a higher quality bike.

Oh, I did look into tuning my front fork and it seems there isn't much I can do with it. It's a 33mm fork so no volume spacers and there is actually a sticker on it that says "USE ONLY FOR LEISURE CROSS COUNTRY: DO NOT USE FOR FREERIDE/DOWNHILL, DIRT JUMPER OR ANY HARD RIDING"  Wen't out again yesterday and while it's fun on picnic(minus the small drops), I struggle on 1/4 notch. I know 99% of that is my skill but after two trips through 1/4 notch this week and going off those small 3 foot drops on picnic I'm thinking I would like a rear suspension bike and a better front end. To say what I currently have is jarring is putting it mildly. Even when I managed a fairly decent landing.

Sounds like how it happens for the large majority of us.  Switching from my hardtail to full suspension has been amazing.   When it is time to ride, I HIGHLY recommend Peddler's Bike Shop.  They have great bikes, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, and their owner even is a trail steward for the Surburban Ninja trails which are right near Brushy Creek park (and are very fun trails).

The question is whether the company has immediate access to the cash now or whether it has to hold it in reserve.

If you have to put it in reserve, then the cash is adjusted against the reserve. Again, neither of us is a CPA. I took many semesters of accounting in both high school and college, that is what prompted my immediate question. This is not how the debits and credits work but instead a question of whether reserves need to be made, essentially nullifying the cash.

Let's just see if an actual CPA can answer this.

I am a CPA.  Not a legal requirement to hold the cash as restricted, but definitely a good business practice.

In the end, actually buying gear or getting services is the best thing but purchase of gift cards can definitely help in the mean time as a cash infusion.

Seems way bigger to me. I hit the big picnic drop at least 3-4x a week. The new snail drop scares the crap out of me just looking at it.

Agreed.  That snail drops is the craziest thing I have seen.

How is Brushy looking mid day (or mornings) during the week? No way I am going in the afternoon/evening, but I would like to make it out there soon.

Mid-day to and mornings(preferred) is definitely your best bet.  3pm to 7pm is a MADHOUSE.

I finished all trail East of the first creek crossing including the ‘exit trail’ consisting of Debs drop.  Also finished the trail along the other side of the creek and about half up the other side.   Hope that helps.

I'm thinking about a huge probably 20 inch tree that is starting to lean just after you hit one of the drop onPicnic. It will fall one day and get turned into a sweet feature. What tree are you referring to? Is it a recent lean or fall? Does it need to get removed for safety? Or is it maybe just a tree a bit in the way as is?.

    Ah, different tree 🙂

Did he hit that big leaning tree?

I hit this tree and had a bad wreck.  Will have the scars forever.

I'm assuming you mean the tree on the other side of the "creek" if you do that bigger roll in drop next to the bridge.   I clipped the tree and it shot me into that rock face.
