olddbrider
Santa brought me some new handlebars for Christmas and I'm trying to figure out the right stem length given that my new bars are much wider than my old ones. I went from a 760mm bar with a 70mm stem (practically XC measurements, I know) to an 800mm bar with a 40mm stem I borrowed from a friend. After a day of riding with the new bars I am planning to cut them down a bit. I expect that I'll end up somewhere around 780mm. The biggest issue is that I didn't like the feel of the 40mm stem. I'd like to experiment with some different lengths, but I'd rather not buy a new stem only to find out it's not the right length. Does anybody have a spare stem I could borrow for a few days? As stated in the title, I need a 35mm clamp. As for the length, I'd like to try 50mm, 60mm, and maybe even 70mm (my old stem has a 31.8 clamp, so I can't use it).
