What to do with two wheelsets?

So I just picked up a lightly used Ibis S35 aluminum wheelset of FB marketplace. Now I’ve got my original S35 carbon wheels and the new to me S35 aluminum wheels. Planning on using one set for shorter rides on more techy trails and the other set for 30+ mile rides where I’m riding partially on the road. I’ve got the Maxxis Assegais that came with my bike and a set of Maxxis Rekons hanging around. Additionally, I’ve got one set of Cushcore inserts.

Here is what I’m thinking:

Carbon wheels paired with the Assegais and no inserts. My thinking is carbon handles rock strikes better and Ibis’ wheel warranty is pretty good.

Aluminum wheels paired with the rekons and cushcore. Even though the cushcore is going to make my “light weight” setup heavier, aluminum doesn’t handle rim strikes as well and since these wheels are second hand, they don’t have a warranty so I want to do what I can to keep them in good condition

What would y’all do? Think I should switch anything up?

I think life is short and I want to maximize my enjoyment when I ride. So, I’d put the wheelset on the bike that makes me smile more and never take it off unless there is a problem. If there is a problem, I’d mount that second set and ride.

If you’re afraid of damaging the carbon wheelset, you probably won’t enjoy riding them because all you’ll think about is that rock waiting to destroy them.

Just my thoughts.
