I've talked to a few road riders who WILL NOT RIDE country roads without the rear radar system that alerts them to oncoming traffic. It's worth it just to not be surprised.

Great meeting you out at Central Machine Works during your cruise. Sorry the weather didn't cooperate but it looks like it didn't slow you down at all! -
Jack Brooks is also meh. I hear that there are some cool trails going in around Cypress. Of course, don't expect rocks or elevation but with enough energy and vision, good trails can be built pretty much anywhere.

I think it's great how the start/end brewery changed based on the service they provided to the group. That's voting with your wallet. Well done!

I never knew his middle name was "Fuller". I've only seen it as "F". Nicely done.

How are you guys mounting these lights to your helmet? I have a Kali helmet with a mounting rail that works great and that's actually why I bought that helmet. However, it limits me to my helmet selection.

Hey @Albert. I still don’t think that Tapatalk is working. Is this on their end?

You were moving! The right gearing at Walnut is fast as long as your legs can push it.

With this rain, we should have great dirt for digging on Saturday. Features like the jump on outer log loop, the berms on windy, the rollers on inner log loop are all a result of work days like this. If you ride Walnut (and I know that most of us do), come and dig! It's fun and there won't be many trails dry enough to ride this weekend anyway.

Super helpful. Thanks man!

Stopped working for me as well. I tried to re-login and it won't accept my password or login info. I'm also having a problem with the text color on the bottom of the page. Not a big deal but I can't figure out how to adjust it from my end.

I’ve lived all over Texas including Beaumont and I’ve never seen anywhere as red neck as Washington state. You get outside of Seattle and it’s full on “Let’s shoot this old TV with a machine gun in the side of the road” red neck. Freaking crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

*THIS SATURDAY*- Sept 11th....2021 (unofficial) Dragon Slayer Pre-Ride
Tree Magnet replied to CBaron's topic in Ride Calls
I think they want everyone to pay now to access the lake. They changed up the parking lot at Hogg to force you through the gate and blocked off the lot on the way in. It’s actually really easy and you do it all online. If they use the $5 /car to maintain the park, no biggie. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What ya drinkin? Share your thoughts on Beer, Wine, and Spirits!

There is wisdom here. I drink beer for the experience 99% of the time. A cold Miller Lite on the beach or a Dos Equis with a lime after mowing the yard is a great experience. Horses for courses. I just struggle to find the right course for an IPA but if that was what I had in the cooler, I’d drink it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Monday Sept 3rd: LGT (unofficial) Dragonslayer pre-ride call

You guys shooting for a sub-3 hour lap time or a Dragon Slayer 3-lap pace? Note that these are not the same thing for most of us! -

I’m with Barry here. I’m okay with an IPA or two on tap but it shouldn’t drown out all the other beers. Just like they shouldn’t only have oatmeal stouts or sour ales. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
You have to admit, we are a thankless lot and a little unruly on our best days. Maybe we need to throw Albert some love? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ultimately, we should all just recognize that a monkey without a tail would have a miserable life. That can’t be overlooked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Those are pretty damn cool. I've just used my hands and/or needle nose pliers but that is a good design.

I didn’t even know master links were directional. Maybe I should type in bold too? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The first sign of the apocalypse
Tree Magnet replied to AustinBike's topic in Mountain Biking Discussion
Good points. Heavier bikes are harder to move around in the air when things go sideways (on purpose or not). However, they should be able to put a very small battery on these things because you aren't going to go miles and miles. If it's just a big heavy monstrosity, it's going to break and is dumb. What might be interesting is if you could put a battery/motor on a DJ bike that you could take off once you get to the jumps. I suppose there are some situations where the jumps take a ride to reach. Nothing worse than trying to pedal a DJ bike a couple of miles standing up the whole time. -

If there ever was a bike demographic that doesn't like to pedal, it's dirt jumpers. Makes sense to me. They also aren't as focused on weight but that thing better be built like a tank! -
Riding through that neighborhood between Brushy and SN around 4:30 or 5 pm is a parade of awesome smells. There are a lot of Indian families living in there and the smells from those kitchens are amazing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
