complicated conversation a little bit. here are my 2 cents and methods scout the area on foot, and hopefully you can create a vision... using topographical mapping is optional, but I prefer it. Either before or after you do actual on the ground scouting. Once you have a vision, walk your path with neon flagging tape and mark where you see the trail going. Flagging tape is a great non intrusive way to mark the trail Once you are confident in the path you have chosen, cut away Vegetation and create a complete, featureless, bermless, functional path. once the path has been cut, work the ground with the various methods until the trail is ready for tires. Ride the functional path and see how it flows and start placing the berms and features accordingly And take the rest from there 😉 its a layered process for me, scout, functional path, pimp it out with berms and features last. When you try to build a trail feature by feature a lot of times it takes forever and features get put in the wrong places and shit doesn’t flow right Good luck. And hit me up I’m always down to put a trail in if the terrain is good

I’ve tried cushcore one time and although I didn’t have much trouble Getting the tire on & off with the cushcore involved, I did have a repeated weird ass tire-blowing-off-the-rim during mounting issue which made me give up on the system. I also got a rock puncture on a brand new DD Maxxis aggressor tire on like the 1st or 2nd ride which didn’t reinforce any confidence in the system either. Just run proper tire pressures and the right casing tires and you should be just fine without it. Unless you have problems destroying tires and rims which you haven’t been able to solve by tire / air pressure adjustment, I’d say it’s an unnecessary purchase. Just my opinion though.

I built all the trails there but always van camp anytime im there on top of the ridge line. im not familiar with their claim of access to fire pits at the camp sites. we should have a bon fire though, and the burn ban is currently inactive so groups camping making a fire pit I dont believe should be an issue. dogs are allowed but need to be on leash, well behaved, and kept in your camping area

PSA: Bandera Bike Park now has an improved shuttle system! Before it was a small 4x4 deisel mule utility vehicle, and is now a 4x4 F150 with better rider & bike capacity per shuttle run. In addition to that, the shuttle system is being further improved by an additional shuttle truck coming soon (getting brand new motor). You should be fine with a half shell helmet, but we always recommend adequate protection! If you plan on doing more events, and maybe park or gravity riding in the future, maybe consider a giro switchblade or something. They are great helmets

Is it me or is tire sealant just about the most spill-prone liquid ON EARTH or what?!?! Seems like every time I open a bottle of it the universe just stops whatever it’s doing to absolutely insure that something happens and I spill that shit everywhere. Even if not spilling it is my #1 focus. 🤦‍♂️🤬🤦‍♂️🤬🤦‍♂️🤬🤦‍♂️
