  1. Ooooooh!! I’m *grits teeth* SO RIDING TOMORROW edit: thanks for the report!
  2. I’m REALLY hoping I can hit the trail tomorrow around 11am/noon. I’m looking for someone to crush my hopes and dreams of doing that or to say that it might actually be possible. GreenMTB’s Twitter link doesn’t show up for me. :/ any insight would be greatly appreciated. Hoping sun and wind today will dry off rocks and make things ok to ride? *cringe* & *wince*
  3. Gonna have to hit this when it stops raining in July. 🙄
  4. Niiiice. I’m just getting started so I have a way more modest setup. The DTX562.
  5. If you made it successfully down these things, then perhaps you should have. Also, if you were truly that worried about it, then you wouldn’t. I just don’t derive the same joy from being scared anymore. I’m finding with old age I’m enjoying things that create new pathways like learning drums and reading books. Man I used to loathe reading.
  6. Yeah I’m sure the bullshit mist we got/are getting has made the rocks treacherous. Might have to force a crappy slick ride IF the dirt is ok. This “winter” really is blowing it.
  7. Yeah we wanted carnage stories but ones that were more funny. I couldn’t tell you the last time I rode down the ditch because of the nasty water at the bottom of the rolly section. Snapped femur. Damn. Hope the dude gets put back together and on the bike again. That’s gnarly. Sending out good vibes.
  8. DAMN it felt good to ride again. :):)
  9. I wonder can large rocks be stacked on either side of the tread in widened areas to form kind of an artificial trail width to keep douches from widening? Could that make people ride through or get off and walk on the rocks? Would that even work long-term? Would there be negative effects on trail assuming spacing left for drainage if applicable? I assume drainage is the issue since there are puddles people are avoiding.
  10. Or you could allow the man to do as he pleases?
  11. Not sure rugger is into your style of jumping in, you (reverse) cowboy.
  12. Wtf do you Friday morning never working ass people do for a living?
  13. I’m glad to see this thread break down. It was confusing me.
  14. I’ve said it for years...kinda stating the obvious, but it’s a true handling rider’s trail. I’ve heard stories of dudes with big tops and deep power being frustrated as fuck, crashing, breaking parts/bikes, etc and getting dropped by people with less lungs n legs and more fluidity. It really turned out to be a sick training ground for handling. I was riding Christmas and the rocks were wet. What a techy little fuckface of a ride it was. Been a Loooong time since I rode it like that. I did all associated trails (fell walking down a G out on Rim Job, almost slid down into the ravine, lol) and the Deception to Swag and back. Something I noticed, probably because boosted to the moon, but is something we all do but I never thought about it. Line selection when wet limestone, especially off camber...very deliberately straight lines up and down when flat wet limestone, but when going down off camber you’re aiming 8-10 inches (depending) left or right of the intended “front tire landing zone” in the dirt below said slick ass rock. It’s a mindfuck, but it was a blast. I was dabbing laughable stuff and walking some, but like making it up Dub Step, and the climb before Birdstone (right after Lloyd Bridges) felt like real achievement. It feels good to enjoy riding again. 🙂
  15. Ouch! And the loser in spandex on the Devinci was most likely me! Red roadie spandex jacket. Roadie helmet, lol. Edit: if you saw the dweeb on the Devinci on Deception proper going W-E, not me. I don’t have enough fitness yet to run D both directions AND do all other trails and ride home. Both of those riding accessories were given to me free as hand me downs. I only ride the freshest gear. 😕
  16. Man. Best ride of 2018 so far Sunday. Weather. Shiiiit. Dirt. Shiiiiiittttttt. Just. So good. I rode all the trails from my apartment. Don’t hate. It’s a long ride for me, especially if I’m going for flow. My mantra the entire ride was: “Paper Cranks”...my friend once told me to act like my cranks were made of paper. It was amazing. I was staying on top of my gear and the power was there when I needed. Old school type ride. I dabbed Squeeze Play (east to west) and rode it two more times before making it. I used to never miss that one. Trail channnnge. I take a diff line up now. Fuckin had a CLASSIC self-doubt moment on EBD. I grabbed a tree at the flat just before the ledge. I charged it and got all the way up and unclipped in a moment of doubt. Dabbed forward, clipped back in and yelled, “Fuck! Almost! Next Time!” After Snail Trail, I merged with what looked like to me a high school mtb team entering Daves Ditch from BCRT. They peeled immediately left and up and I kept rolling up the ditch to my preferred bail about 2/3 way up....real punchy techy climb to beginning of Rim Job. Bombed Rimjob and Picnic X and Picnic out...practiced wheelies all the way across the dam and then ate a bar and rode home. Man. That was awesome. Oh, rode the new Peddlers stuff. I started to think, “That could use a berm”....but then I remembered who’s building that shit. Lol.
  17. Yeah confused as fuck over here. Gonna just pedal tomorrow. I guess trails are gtg?
  18. Just more full. I splashed through those like a BOSS.
  19. Haha. What’s 1/4 Notch? I only know of Deception and associated trails. Every single time I ride and see that sign I am reminded of how dumb that name is; however, it apparently had to be renamed. I mean, when I jokingly suggested “Deception” to Rugger, I didn’t expect it to stick. Also, what’s wrong with “RimJob”...I don’t get it!
  20. Checked this out today. Mixed emotions. Kinda liked it scary, but oh well. Probably should happen to decrease chance of catastrophic injuries.
  21. Damn. Guess I’m hitting it tomorrow morning then just to see. If it blows I’ll hit Play it Again for some new curling stones 🥌
  22. Nah I didn’t go down Gnar wood feature. I just turned left n did Snow White. 🤔
  23. I rode today but didn’t bother with Deception West knowing it would be treacherous, but IMO, picnic, mulligan, both peddlers, and Deception East were all good. Gnargasm was very puckery. Walked some. Rim Job was sketch, walked G outs. Tires had a little mud at times but by no means was it caking. Guess it could rain tonight, but if not, IMO if you like the handling challenge of slick riding, it’s gtg, but next time I ride Brushy (Sunday) it should be absolute breasts.
