  1. Yeah Soup Can Alley and Flow Daddy are great additions and alternatives to the existing trail between Brodie and Mopac. I enjoy the north side trail from Mopac to Valero, it does have some chunk at the very end and its nice to have an alternative. I havent seen anything new between Brodie and William Cannon, so cant comment on that.
  2. I rode it Tuesday 12/8 around 1pm, branches/trees blocking the trail in 3 diff areas. I think i was first to ride that day, Strava showed a lot of rides after me that had decent times. So maybe our vandal is a morning man?
  3. no clubhouse, there are outdoor (shack or old shipping container, I don't remember which) repair and rental areas. 2 porta-pottys at base and 2 up top. As far as send/no send, everything I did was rollable or you could send it, but a few blues were slick, steep, and had wooden features that were a bit trippy. I loved them but my 16 yr old had trouble. I have been there a total of 1 time, so maybe someone with more experience can chime in about that aspect.
  4. Went there last Sunday, I'll admit I had a better time than I thought I would. We got there at 10:30 and I think it was most crowded then, as the day went on it seemed to clear out. As far as the mountain, It is split into 3rds. Top, Middle, and bottom. This made it feel like it had more 'runs' because you can mix each section with to make multiple unique ways to get down. I saw all kinds of bikes and skill levels out there. Hardtails, FS trail bikes (I was on a FS trail), walmart bikes, and 5 yr olds on their pink kid bikes. I would say that the green is fine for anyone, most of the blue runs are a big step up. I skipped the blacks this trip. Make sure everyone knows how enter/exit berms. I saw a lot of folks enter low then lip out. Oh, one other thing, you place your own bike on the charlift which can be challenging for some. And the porta pottys stunk pretty bad. Otherwise I would go again. Hope this helps.
  5. I did Rudolph yesterday uphill, cleaned up 3 areas where trees/branches were across the trail. Ended up going down Bambi to redo Rudolph and to see if the vandal may be hanging around. No sign of him/her but one day...!
  6. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/adult-dies-after-reportedly-suffering-fall-in-southwest-austin-austin-travis-county-ems-says/ "AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person is dead after reportedly suffering a fall in southwest Austin Monday afternoon, according to Austin-Travis County EMS. ATCEMS reported at about 3 p.m., first responders, including STAR Flight, responded to the incident near the 6300 block of Tasajillo Trail. That’s near La Crosse Avenue. KXAN Crews on scene said it happened on a trail behind the homes in the neighborhood. Initial reports were of a possible unconscious person who suffered a fall. A bystander helped to give CPR to the patient, ATCEMS said. ATCEMS Medics eventually pronounced the adult dead on scene, the agency said. The scene is now being turned over to law enforcement." Discgo Discgo is there, anyone hear about this and whether it was a hiker or biker?
  7. Torchy's on Slaughter is my groups starting spot for everything SATN. So a buddy of mine rode Bambi today and the asshole placed a large branch across it. As some of you know Bambi is more of a high speed downhill so a branch across it is dangerous. I have a mind to just camp out there and wait, though is identification enough of a deterrent? Shit pisses me off.
  8. About 2 weeks ago some idiot placed a bunch of electrical/computer cables along with various metal trash across Rudolph, towards the bottom. Like said above, always ride that trail cautiously now.
  9. I have been using these for the last year, so far so good. 5 lenses with polarized. Goofy looking, but isn't that a requirement? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081PK468D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
  10. I ride a Giant Stance and the rear hub is shot. The Stance rear wheel is a QR 135mm axle, 6 bolt disc, 25mm, 12 speed drivetrain and I am having a heck of a time finding a decent replacement. Anyone have one they want to sell or can recommend where to buy from? I have searched all the usual places online but no luck so far. Because this is a low end bike, and I prob cant use this wheel on a new bike so I am trying not to get too high end. Thanks for listening!
  11. Just did my first night ride tonight on the SATN. No owls, but came across another group that said they saw a rattler on Bambi, kind of freaked us out,, so our avg speed increased after that. Used a Niterider 900 on the bar, and a Amazon special 600 on the helmet. Worked great, can't wait to go again.
  12. Ah ok, ours is about 3 houses down across street. Seems like a popular area!
  13. Great info, thanks! We are not into big jumps but will definitely research the areas you mentioned. Was you host named Hunter? Thanks again!
  14. Just booked a house (2nd St) for first weekend in November, the host said it is just a couple houses down from Rich Drew. Couple questions, good location? Besides Slaughter Pen, what areas should not be missed? Rich Drew offers trail experiences as well as clinics, anyone done these? Worth the cost? Favorite Restaurant, brewery, bars (that provide Covid precautions)? Thanks in Advance. Hoping weather will be good that weekend.
  15. Exact same thing happened to me on Stroller Roller yesterday in the SATN. Yelled at top of my lungs, bell, etc. nothing. Finally had to get beside her and wave my arms, she jumped like I was Freddy Kruger. I can't believe someone would play music so loud on a obvious single track bike trail, only excuse is hearing impaired? Crazy.
  16. DiscGo DiscGo is a good techy segment located in Circle C park (another place to park) that is connected to the trails mentioned above. From there you could take Phoenix toward the trails between 45, boneyard, meridian well/rare etc.
  17. I've stared at that drop numerous times trying to get up the nerve. Definitely has a higher pucker factor than what you see in the video.
