  1. The default edit window was only five minutes. I've changed this to 24 hours. If you need to edit a post beyond that, please let me know and I'll help you. ..Al
  2. I'd be glad to sticky any important threads. I have created separate forums for selling bikes as well as bike parts: Bikes for Sale Bike Components ..Al
  3. First thing would be to get a copy of the MoJo database. ๐Ÿ™‚
  4. That's what I get for using a black graphic with a transparent background. Which looks good in the browser tab (since you don't see the white around the sprocket), but against a black background it'll be invisible. Yes, I will fix that, thanks for pointing it out.
  5. I fixed the signatures, they were disabled. You can edit your signature by first by clicking on your username at the top and selecting "Account Settings": And then clicking "Signature": ..Al
  6. Let's introduce people here to status updates!

  7. Save those thoughts for the new park they'll be building to the west of Brushy Creek. ๐Ÿ™‚
  8. Wow, great to see so many people show up for these rides! I'd be a bit hesitant to try riding with the fast group(s) until I know the trails well. More so if they are racer types. ๐Ÿ˜„
  9. Thank you! I am collecting images like this and will sort through them to see which work well at the top of the page. Will probably have to wait until I have a proper logo graphic for the site.
  10. I did create a Twitter account and a Facebook Page, but haven't done anything with them yet. I'll be working with a designer to make a proper logo and some nice graphics that I can use for those other platforms. A group would work well also. This forum has excellent integration with Twitter and Facebook. Right now you can login with Twitter or Facebook accounts, and you should be able to share posts directly from the forum to those sites. It's not something I've explored yet, but I will. ..Al
  11. You're right about signatures, I have no idea where that is. Will take a look, as I know the forum does indeed support them. As for porting over "important" threads. This is something I've done in the past, but it's non-trivial, and even more so when going from a different forum. If you're converting the entire forum from one type of forum to another, there are generally conversion scripts that can be used to do so. These scripts pull everything over -- users, forums, posts, attachments, private messages, and so forth. If you're just trying to move threads, you need to match up users on the new site with users on the old site. And you certainly will not have all the people from the old site who posted in those threads registered on the new site. Before anything like that could even happen, though, I'd need a copy of the MoJo forum database. I'm not sure how realistic that is at this point. It certainly would be possible to transplant the whole Austin VooDoo forum, but you'd have the same problems as described above. To do it properly you'd need to migrate any accounts that were active in any VooDoo threads, while omitting users who have already registered on this site (you could try matching up via email and/or username, and neither are necessarily foolproof). ..Al
  12. Yes, there's quite a bit in this forum compared to the version of vBulletin running on MoJo. I haven't played around with it all yet, nor have I really explored some of the great third-party applications and plugins that have been developed. There are also Blog and Gallery modules that I haven't installed yet (the Gallery module in particular would be ideal for a bike forum). I'll work on getting a dark theme installed today, just need to look at what's available and buy one of them. ..Al
  13. If you're not receiving emails from the forum, please let me know. I've already found one email provider (AT&T, which includes SBCGlobal) rejecting emails, and I'm working to get that block removed. I've seen a few registrations with gmail accounts that have not validated their accounts. I manually approved them. With Gmail, please check your SPAM folder to see if messages from the forum are being deposited there. If so, mark the messages as not spam and that should stop Gmail from blocking them. When setting up a new website with a new IP address, it's not uncommon to run into issues like this, especially if the IP has ever been used in the past for spamming. I'll work on getting any blocks removed, and I can look at the mail server logs to see if and why messages are getting rejected. ..Al
  14. What do you guys normally ride? I need to make more of an effort to get down there periodically (I'm all the way up in Round Rock) as the trails down there are great fun and I don't know them well enough!
  15. Just finished a lap at Walnut Creek. It's in great shape! Getting a bit dusty, so I assume no rain here fell yesterday evening.
  16. You're welcome! Hope people find it useful! I'm at Walnut Creek this morning, but will get to Brushy later this week. :)
  17. I just setup Tapatalk for the forum, since I know some people prefer it on mobile devices. Just search for "Austin Mountain Biking" in Tapatalk and it should come right up. ..Al
  18. Haven't been out there in a few weeks due to vacation, wonder if any new trail was built in that time. ๐Ÿ˜„
  19. I just took a look, the existing thread on MoJo is 614 (!) pages and was started on September 19, 2011. There are 20 posts per page, so that's over 12,000 posts!
  20. LOL, you almost gave me a heart attack!
  21. Welcome to the Austin Mountain Biking forum! Since this is a new forum, we don't have everything polished just yet. The goal was to get this forum online quickly so Austin area mountain bikers would have a place to discuss one of the best sports/hobbies/obsessions in the world! Some notes on this first iteration of the forum: We've created a base set of forums, but we can easily add additional forums as required, and change existing forums if need be. The appearance of the forum will probably change a fair bit as we have time to adjust the theme. If you have any Austin mountain biking photos that would work well in the header at the top of the page, please send them to us! The forum allows users to select from several different header images, and we'd love to have some great photos we can use up there. We plan on making a nice logo for the forum as well, a proper favicon, and so forth. We can install multiple themes for the forum. For instance, take a look at the themes at IPS Focus. If you see one you like, please let us know! I plan on installing a dark theme, as I know many people prefer that to light themes (and they are also good for reading at night in the dark). If you want to help pay for a new theme, even better! ๐Ÿ™‚ I will be tweaking quite a bit over the next several weeks, so please don't be surprised when you see changes. If you see any weirdness with the forum (something not obviously working right), please let us know! You can use the contact form to send us a note, or you can post a message in the the Site Feedback forum. If you have any feedback and/or suggestions, please post them in the Site Feedback forum. Have fun! ..Al
