  1. Checked out the trails today, it's a shit show. There's no way the trails will be ready by the weekend. On Tuesday we got more rain in one day than we normally get in the whole of January!!!
  2. Everyone should join ARR, they are the face of Mountian Biking in Central Texas and every governmental agency that is considering putting new trails on their land wants ARR involvement. I have personal experience of this. When I started building Peddlers Pass it was an unsanctioned trail on land owned by the City of Cedar Park. When it started to become popular the City closed down the trail. I met with them to get the trail reopened and one of the first things they wanted was the involvement of ARR. The same thing happened with the rest of the trails at Brushy Creek. Williamson County wanted the involvement of ARR to make all the rouge trails official and allow trail building to continue. I know there are lots of people on this forum that ride at Brushy Creek and are not members of ARR. Please join ARR, without their involvement there would be no trails at Brushy Creek.
  3. The purple dashed line is an existing trail that leads for the parking lot to the labyrinth and the Regional Trail.
  4. 1st yellow circle. If you miss it you will get to a log blocking the existing trail by the labyrinth, stop, turn around, and go back +/- 100 feet and look for the new stuff (now on your left). There's a second crossing of this existing trail indicated by the second yellow circle, just go straight over the existing trail. There's a third crossing of the existing trail indicated by the third yellow circle, Turn left onto the existing trail, ride for about 75 feet then turn left and it will lead you back to the original end of Peddlers Pass
  5. Everything else will be the same. This is just showing new stuff.
  6. The new end to Peddlers Pass is rough cut. I've only had time to groom about half of it. Go ride it and help to pack it down. A word of warning, there is still a lot of loose rocks and other hazards in a few areas. In the attached image the green line is the current last section of the trail, the red line will be the new trail. It adds about 0.6 miles. The trail does loop back upon itself so watch for other riders if taking the route. I won't be closing off the old route until sometime in early January
  7. Does anyone want to help me work on the trail this evening for about an hour?
  8. Between the entrance and Lake Creek Park
  9. It was a temp fix. I got a shovel and scooped all the water out. Then scraped out the wettest dirt. Next, I smacked the surface with a shovel to get more water to rise to the surface and scooped that out. It does need a pond next to it, but i'm not doing that anytime soon. Or, it needs to stop raining so much.
  10. Peddlers Pass Work Day When: Sunday 16th @ 9:00am - 11:00am. Where: Meet at the entrance to Peddlers Pass (next to Lake Creek Park). Misc: Bring gloves, water, rakes, pickaxe, and other trail building tools. Special request for a couple of weedeaters.
  11. don't you already have this approval?
  12. A yellow bucket and pickaxe with a red handle are missing (I could have just forgotten where I put them). If you see them, hide them in a good spot and let me know where they are.
  13. That's a great time throet. I was planning on doing two laps, but only did one. A few minutes before the finish line I got a small cramp in my left quad, it gave me the perfect excuse to call it a day after one lap. It was the responsible thing to do 😉 I wouldn't want the person sweeping the course to find me crying somewhere in Cedar Breaks. Glad I finally finished a lap of Georgetown and got that monkey off my back. I've tried it 7 times and failed to complete it because of mechanicals, injury, or flooding (last time I separated my shoulder and tore my rotor cuff). It was a great event and I'm glad I did it. Next year I'll be back for two laps and a rock trophy. A big thanks to DesertNomad for putting on the event, it was the smoothest run race I've been to.
  14. Peddlers still had standing water in some places yesterday on the East side. Didn't even bother looking at the Westside.
  15. First Blood and I check it today. It needs a day to dry. Apparently, there was a lot of rain overnight.
  16. Wasn't me, but I know who it was. Thank you.
  17. I checked the trails at lunch time. There are some very slick spots and standing water in places along all the trails. I'd wait until at least tomorrow to ride.
  18. New roller section was added this week. With all the rain there's been lots of time to add new stuff. InShot_20181023_200307219.mp4
