  1. Peddlers Pass will be ready for the race on Saturday. There is standing water in a few places but I'll take care of that tommorrow. If you want to help me during the day tommorrow please message me.
  2. ha ha, First-blood and I build together all the time...just some friendly S!@# stirring. We were building together on Deception when those killer bees attacked.
  3. and those were Killer Bees, 50 stings vs your 5 stings.
  4. The number of people riding Deception has increased over the years, but it's popularity has decreased. It's not a bash on Deception, just simple math. In 2011/2012 when building started and there was only a few miles of trail and a limited number of riders. The number of riders using the Brushy Creek Single Track has increased substantially along with miles of trail since then, but an ever increasing percentage of those riders are using other sections of the Brushy Creek Single Track because of the reasons you mentioned above, so therefore Deceptions popularity has decreased even though the number of riders using it has increased...or it use to be a big fish in a small pond, but now it's the same size fish in a much bigger pond. The attached picture shows strava riders on Saturday Feb 8th on Deception vs Peddlers from 12pm - 7pm. As the difficulty of a trail increases there's going to be fewer people that can ride it. It doesn't mean one is better than the other. An easier trail will always be ridden by more people.
  5. Based on Strava, Deception is now one of the lesser ridden trails since there are so many other options.
  6. Yes. I can sign pay dirt forms too.
  7. On Friday 14th of February I'll be doing race course prep, removing loose rocks, trimming branches etc. I should be out there around 9:00-4:00pm. Let me know if you can help.

  9. Here's the East side, it went the other direction a year ago.
  10. Take a look at this video of Peddlers Pass just one year ago, it's hardly recognisable.
  11. Peddlers Pass is good to go. The chain was up last night in anticipation of rain today, but the forecast has changed. If the chains still up you can take it down.
  12. Get ready, i need to vent. I was at Peddlers last night..it will not be ready this today, there was standing water in places. But still people were riding it. These people were not noob's and should have known better...and each one of them said exactly the same thing (that i hear everytime) "Oh, i was just thinking it was too muddy, i'll exit the trail when i can". 1. That's B.S. on Peddlers you know within the 1st 100 feet if it's going to be too muddy. 2. Stop putting your need to ride above the longevity of the trail and the time trail builders are going to have to spend to fix the trail after your selfishness. We could be using those hours to build new stuff, so your just making the trail less fun for yourself. 3. When you get asked to stop riding the trail because it's too muddy, just get off your bike and walk it out, don't keep riding "to the next exit". It's like a little F you to the builder because your continuing to do the exact thing he's asking you to stop doing. It might seem like a small thing to you, but it's a huge thing to the person that has spent thousands of hours building what you're destroying. I personally have spent at least 3,000 -4,000 hours working on Peddlers Pass over the last 4 years (maybe more), so you can image what i think when someone keeps riding after I've asked them to stop.
  13. No sign's should be backwards. The whole trail is now counter-clockwise. I'll check the signs
  14. I'm going out there this evening and I'll check.
  15. Yes, there is a alternernate day, can't remember what it is right now.
  16. It's just three weeks until race day!!!! We've made a lot of improvements since the last race. The times should be at least 30 seconds faster. Go sign up. https://www.facebook.com/events/2354948434833999
  17. If it's not sticking to your tire it ok to take the chain down. Thats very surprising its ok to ride.
  18. A mattock can't rake out rocks like a McLeod. If you can carry just one tool, use a mcleod.
  19. I've used both. Rouge is not worth the extra price. Go with the one in the link below. https://www.amazon.com/Nupla-FHR-48-McLeod-Classic-Handle/dp/B004UMIOMA/ref=sr_1_2?crid=PYMA9LZ5SNBJ&keywords=mcleod+tool&qid=1578591125&sprefix=mcleod%2Caps%2C158&sr=8-2
  20. Remember the Peddlers Pass MTB TT? The one where the top racers in each cat were walking away with $180 in cash? It's coming back for a winter iteration! There's been lots of improvements to the trail in the last 6 months. It's going to be another fun fast day. https://www.facebook.com/events/2354948434833999
  21. We're done with the mini-x (for now). We built 12 new berms, a big roller, and lessened the slope of the trail after the bridge that crosses the drainage ditch and takes you under Parmer Lane. We foucsed our efforts on the corners that were slowing everyone down. The biggest change is that long dusty right hand turn in the cedars before the roller section, you can now pedal as fast as you want through that section. I'm guessing everyone's times are going to drop by 30 seconds, it will be interesting to watch. Report back how much your times have dropped...fyi some of the berms will still need tweaking and to be ridden in.
  22. Favor to ask. While building with the mini-x I hit the motherload of rock (see picture), it's a few turns after the Cedar Bridge (east of Parmer). To be efficient with the mini-x (we have it for one week) I didn't do the hand finishing work and moved on to the next project after clearing a rideable path at the bottom of the berm. If you ride Peddlers Pass (or Brushy Creek) this week it would be amazing if you could stop and pick out a few rocks then throw them behind the berm. It will be a huge help...and you will make a Trail Builders Christmas dream come true.
  23. We've been going crazy with the mini-x this week making the course even faster...8 new machine built berms, one big roller/jump, and smoothed out a rough spot since Saturday.
